While Bounty and strength are certainly important for one to become a Yonko, it is not all that is necessary. An incredible pirate crew and a major fleet is also a requirement. Thankfully for Luffy, he already has one that he established towards the end of the Dressrosa arc, called the Straw Hat Grand Fleet. This Straw Hat Grand Fleet is incredibly important and, as revealed by Oda in the past, will come into play very soon. It appears that the time for them to jump into action might just be the current arc, that is Egghead Island.

The Creation Of The Straw Hat Grand Fleet

The Straw Hat Grand Fleet is an incredibly powerful fleet that was created at the end of the Dressrosa arc. It must be remembered that this fleet is not something that Luffy created. In fact, it is a self-proclaimed fleet, however, they have definitely shared cups of sake and sworn to follow Luffy forever. This means they are bound to the Straw Hat captain and, now that Luffy is an Emperor of the Sea, the Straw Hat Grand Fleet becomes more important than ever before.

After the start of the Dressrosa Arc, it was quite clear that the Straw Hat Grand Fleet members were all enemies. They all fought in the Corrida Colosseum against each other in order to claim the Mera Mera no Mi. However, after Doflamingo revealed his treachery, they realized that they had all been played. The Straw Hat Grand Fleet members were, mostly, turned into toys and, in the end, it was the Straw Hat Pirates who ended up saving them. They all wanted revenge on Doflamingo, however, none of them were strong enough to do it at the time. Of course, this all fell to Luffy and he was the one who vanquished the king of Dressrosa for good.

Doing that made all these powerful fighters indebted to him and, from there onwards, they pledged their allegiance to Luffy, who could not care less about it. However, it is safe to say that they were all friends at the end of the arc and, from here onwards, their role will be extremely important.

The Exploits Of The Grand Fleet After Dressrosa

The Straw Hat Grand Fleet was last seen during the Dressrosa arc itself. Shortly after the conclusion of the arc, this fleet spread apart and went far and wide to do their own thing. The only ship that the crew used was Luffy-Go Senpai, which belongs to Bartolomeo, the Cannibal. This ship carried the Straw Hat Pirates to the Phantom Island of Zou. Meanwhile, all the other members of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet did their own thing. Bartolomeo and his group went to one of Shanks's territories and burned down his flag. Meanwhile, Cavendish was seen sailing the seas reminiscing about his past in the Bourgeois Kingdom.

The third ship captain, Don Sai, ends up refusing marriage to Uholisia and gets badly beaten up for it. Eventually, he weds Baby 5, who officially joins his family. Ideo starts his own pirate crew after ending a thousand-year-long conflict between the Long-Leg and the Long-Arm Tribe. Meanwhile, Leo and his group create a new pirate crew and prepare for an escort service to the Reverie.

One Piece: The Final Power-Up For Every Straw Hat

Hajrudin was last seen breaking his relationship with Buggy and his delivery service and, of course, pledging to the Straw Hat Pirates. This means that the New Giant Warrior Pirates are now allies of the Straw Hat Crew. Finally, Orlumbus retires as an adventurer and officially becomes a pirate, due to the pledge that he made to Luffy.

It is quite clear to see all of them had their short stories revolving around Luffy and they were preparing to come to his aid at some point in the future of the story. Fans are desperately waiting for that to happen and it is most likely going to come sooner rather than later.

The Important Role Of The Straw Hat Grand Fleet

At the end of the Dressrosa arc, Oda himself teased an extremely important role for the Straw Hat Grand Fleet. According to Oda himself, the Grand Fleet would go their own ways and make a great name for themselves. They will grow tremendously stronger and, one day, they will be involved in a giant incident of massive proportions that will shake the entire world. This will obviously be done at the side of the Straw Hat Pirates. Reading that, fans knew that this group of pirates would be massive in the future and, perhaps, play a very important role in a major war to come. It was also mentioned that, for now, the fans need not worry about that since it was not going to be anytime soon. A lot of the fans believe that this would be Wano, however, given that the statement was made about a time much later in the future, it definitely could not have been this country.

This leads fans to the Final Saga of One Piece, where the Straw Hat Grand Fleet will most likely be active. The very first island that the Straw Hat Pirates visit in the Final Saga is Egghead, the island of the future. Here, they met Dr. Vegapunk and, of course, his six satellite bodies as well. The incredible secrets of the world were partially revealed to the crew and it was made clear that Vegapunk needed to be defended. Of course, at the same time, the World Government made their attack on Egghead Island, surrounding it with 100 ships of all shapes and sizes and 30,000 Marines. A part of the group also includes one Admiral, Kizaru, one member of the Five Elders, Saturn, and nine Vice Admirals, including powerful fighters such as Doll and Doberman.

Will The Straw Hat Grand Fleet Come To Egghead?

Looking at the massive forces that the Straw Hat Pirates are up against, it is going to be incredibly hard for them to counter all of them by themselves. Luffy is already busy with Kizaru and Zoro is already fighting against Lucci. This fight is going to be extremely difficult for the Straw Hat Pirates and if Saturn comes into the battle, knowing that he is one of the Warrior Gods of the world, it will all be over for the Straw Hat Pirates. To make things worse, there are around 50 Mark 3 Pacifistas that will easily be turned by Saturn to his side and, if the Seraphims are freed, things will go from bad to worse for this group. By all means, the Straw Hat Pirates could very well face annihilation on this island, even though Luffy is currently a Yonko.

This is precisely where the Straw Hat Grand Fleet comes in. If the powerful seven captains of the Grand Fleet show up on Egghead Island, they are going to be of great help. They can hold the Vice Admirals at bay and, they can even potentially find back against the Seraphims. This will allow the rest of the Straw Hat Pirates to take on other foes and refocus their priorities. The Straw Hat Grand Fleet could greatly aid the crew in defeating the Navy and, this is exactly what the massive incident could end up being.

A member of the Five Elders, the highest authority of the world, being defeated and possibly even held captive, and an Admiral of The Navy being utterly crushed would certainly make for great news. Fans should brace themselves for a very interesting few months ahead of themselves as Straw Hat Grand Fleet could end up making their move.
