Many consider One Piece to be the best shonen anime of all time, and considering its global popularity, it may very well be. One Piece tells a complex story with characters who are incredibly well-written. The series has plenty of comedy and action, and thanks to the existence of Haki and Devil Fruits, there are a myriad of unique powers as well.

When a series like One Piece is so popular, it is bound to expand into other mediums, including video games. 2022 will see the release of One Piece Odyssey, a brand-new RPG that will allow fans of the anime to play as Luffy and the rest of the Straw Hats. The crew gets shipwrecked on a mysterious island filled with puzzles, quests, dungeons and turn-based combat. One Piece has hundreds of characters, and it would be nice if a few minor characters made an in-game appearance.

9 Cavendish

Cavendish Performing A Monologue With His Rose

Out of all of One Piece's post-timeskip arcs, the Dressrosa Arc stands out because of its length, but it also delves into the backstories of several characters. The arc introduces a variety of new characters as well, including Cavendish. He is the exiled prince of the Bourgeois Kingdom, and the current Captain of the Beautiful Pirates.

Cavendish may not have a Devil Fruit, but he is an incredible swordsman. When he falls asleep, his bloodthirsty inner personality awakens, and he gains immense speed in the process. He is a member of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet, so it would make sense for him to come to the shipwrecked crew's aid.

8 Gin

Gin Wielding His Weighted Weapon

Gin's only appearance came during the Baratie Arc, the same arc which saw Sanji join the Straw Hats. When he is first introduced, Gin is starving because he was being held on a Marine ship for several days without food, and Sanji agrees to feed him for free. It is later revealed that he is actually a commander with the Krieg Pirates.

Don Krieg was a brutal and ruthless captain, but Gin's loyalty to him was absolute. During the ensuing battle, Gin refuses to kill Sanji and saves Luffy by offering him his gas mask. When the fighting is done, he decides to start a new life away from Krieg, and that new life could lead to an appearance inside the upcoming game.

7 Camie

Camie Resting In A Pool Of Water

Camie is a mermaid who made her debut during the Sabaody Archipelago Arc, and she was part of one of One Piece's most disturbing moments. She befriends the Straw Hats during their visit, but she is kidnaped by a gang who deliver her to an auction house.

Luckily, Camie was saved before she could be sold, and she meets up with the Straw Hats after the timeskip when they visit Fish-Man Island. One Piece fans haven't seen Camie in years, and her ability to communicate with fish could be useful in Odyssey.

6 Johnny And Yosaku

Johnny And Yosaku On The Baratie Speaking With Zoro

Before Zoro became Luffy's first mate, he was a well known bounty hunter, but there was a time when he did not work alone. Johnny and Yosaku were his partners, and the trio reunited during the Baratie Arc when the Straw Hats stumbled upon them by accident.

Johnny and Yosaku did their best against the Krieg and Arlong Pirates, but at the end of the day, they could not handle the bounty hunter lifestyle, and they gave up the life to become fishermen during the timeskip. This duo was quite fun, and they could offer players some extra laughs.

5 Perona

Perona Speaking With Mihawk

One Piece has a number of female characters who can be considered femme fatales, but it is hard to see Perona in that kind of role. She was a Commander with the Thriller Bark Pirates, and she ate a Devil Fruit which gives her the ability to create and control ghosts that drain their victims of their self-esteem.

After the Straw Hats defeated Gecko Moria, Bartholomew Kuma did what she asked, and sent her to a dark and spooky island. Zoro was eventually sent to the same island, and they both learn that it is home to Dracule Mihawk. Perona and Mihawk have developed some type of romantic relationship, and she became quite friendly with Zoro.

4 Zeff

Zeff, The Head Chef Of The Baratie

Zeff is the Baratie's owner and head chef, but he also happens to be one of the old era's strongest pirates. Back then, he was known as Red-Leg because his foot would always be coated in his enemy's blood. He is the man who taught Sanji how to cook, and he raised him as if he was his own son.

Zeff saved Sanji when they were both stranded, and he was willing to eat his own leg so that Sanji could eat real food. He is one of the few bright spots in Sanji's tragic backstory, and it would be great to see them interact again.

3 Paulie

Paulie Using A Rope To Help Build A Ship

The Water 7 Arc is still praised to this day, and it introduced a number of characters who share history with Franky, the Straw Hats' shipwright. Paulie is a talented shipwright as well, and he allied himself with the Straw Hats when it was revealed that Rob Lucci and other Galley-La employees were Cipher Pol agents.

Like all of Galley-La's shipwrights, Paulie is a strong and decent fighter, and he possesses a unique fighting style which incorporates ropes. He helped Franky to build the Straw Hats' current ship, so it wouldn't be a surprise if he shows up to help fix it.

2 Bartolomeo

One Piece Bartolomeo Being Shy Because Of Luffy

The Worst Generation is one of the strongest organizations in One Piece, and Luffy is the star of the entire group. Bartolomeo is another super rookie, and he was inspired to become a pirate when he saw Luffy's nearly successful execution at Loguetown.

Bartolomeo's Devil Fruit gives him the ability to create barriers, and he can use them for offensive and defensive purposes. He is also the captain of the Barto Club and a member of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet. Bartolomeo is vicious, but he becomes a shy child when he's around Luffy. Considering his love for Luffy, he could show up in Odyssey to try and help out.

1 Bon Clay

Luffy & Bon Clay In Impel Down

Bon Clay ate a Devil Fruit which allows him to duplicate the physical appearance of someone whose face he's touched. He first appeared during the Alabasta Arc as member of Crocodile's Baroque Works organization. He may have been the Straw Hats' enemy, but he and Luffy truly hit it off, and they have become good friends.

The duo were reunited in Impel Down, where Bon Clay helped Luffy in his quest to rescue Ace. For a time it looked as though Bon Clay had sacrificed himself to ensure Luffy's escape, but he is still alive. Another reunion will undoubtedly happen, and it would be truly shocking to see it happen in a game.

One Piece Odyssey will be released in 2022 for PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
