Egghead Island is the current destination of the Straw Hat Pirates in One Piece. After fighting a war in Wano, the crew followed the logpose, which took them to Egghead Island. This island is also known as the island of the future and is where Dr. Vegapunk has his base. It is here that he conducts all his experiments and crafts inventions to better the world. Fans know Dr. Vegapunk to be a character who wants a world with infinite energy and, consequently, lesser wars.
His goal is morally correct, although his methods to achieve his goal might be questionable. His thirst for information also led him down the road of tampering with the Poneglyphs. For that reason, among others, the World Government is now seeking to end his life and, as Sentomaru mentioned in the previous chapter, they are going to attack Egghead in an attack that could be even worse than what Ohara had to withstand.
The Fate Of Ohara
22 years ago before the current timeline of One Piece, the smartest scholars of the world had gathered on Ohara, an island in the West Blue. This place was the hub of all the scholars where the smartest minds in the world studied history, among other subjects. Together, these scholars dug up the secrets of the world and, naturally, they also attempted to find out about the truth of the Void Century. The Void Century is filled with events that the World Government does not want to common people to know. Despite that, the people of Ohara continued to dig up information as it was their right to do so. Eventually, word of this reached the Government and they mobilized the Cipher Pol to investigate the island.
Once the investigation was complete and it was revealed that the people of Ohara were studying the Poneglyphs, a Buster Call was issued. A Buster Call is the strongest weapon that the Navy have in their arsenal. An admiral, or someone higher, can invoke a Buster Call. Once an Admiral calls for this powerful naval attack, 10 battleships with five Vice Admirals immediately follow and launch a large-scale attack on the target, until they are decimated and reduced to dust.
The Threat Egghead Island Faces
22 years ago, Ohara fell to the World Government, however, the spirit of the island lived on in the books they had written and studied. Thanks to Saul, these books were secured and taken back to Elbaf. What's more, Vegapunk also recorded all of the information and research in his mind, being the smartest man alive. Over the years, he has continued his research on these topics and even come across an Iron Giant which once climbed the Red Line over 200 years ago. Somehow, the World Government received word about Vegapunk's investigations on Egghead Island. There appears to be a traitor within the ranks who has been leaking information to the World Government. As such, the World Government sent multiple Cipher Pol units to investigate whether this was true or not.
Surprisingly, these Cipher Pol members were abducted by someone on Egghead Island and imprisoned in an old laboratory. Realizing that their fears might be true, the World Government has now mobilized their strongest forces. Admiral Kizaru is leading this assault and he has 100 naval ships on his side. What's more, even Saint Jaygarcia Saturn is on one of the ships, making this bigger than any Buster Call ever. As Sentomaru mentioned, this upcoming event is going to be significantly more dangerous than what Ohara faced 22 years ago.
What Will Happen On Egghead Island
Given what Oda has set up on Egghead Island, it is very likely that an all-out war is going to follow in the upcoming chapters. Once the identity of the traitor on Egghead is revealed and the Seraphims are dealt with, the Navy will most likely close in on the island and challenge the Yonko crew, the Straw Hat Pirates, to an all-out war. This war is going to be incredibly intense and will see the Navy being tested by this crew properly for the first time. It must be remembered that Oda recently stated that this year, One Piece will be like a battle royal. Many characters are going to fight and fans are already seeing that happen in the New World right now.
Law is fighting against Blackbeard while Kid is taking on Shanks. Now, the Navy is going to engage the Straw Hat Pirate crew in combat and the result of this war and the other fights are going to shake up the balance of the world severely. The age of the next generation is here and with the story now in the final arc, fans are in for some great shocks.
The Straw Hat Pirates will engage the Navy in an all-out war here, however, they certainly will not lose this war. This is evident from the fact that Vegapunk needs to survive and Luffy always delivers on his promises. This is true now more than ever before, as he is a Yonko and can't fail to keep his word chapters after rising to the title. Luffy will most likely get out of Egghead Island safely. The island itself, however, will be razed to the ground. The arc could also see the fa ll of the first Admiral, Kizaru, and the first Gorosei in action in the form of Jaygarcia Saturn. Things will only get more intense from here onwards and the fans are anticipating what could be a war comparable to Wano.
