One Piece has delivered some of the most incredible fights over the years and although the story is richer in other areas, such as storytelling and worldbuilding, it still features some of the very best fights seen in anime and manga. While fans certainly enjoy fights that see the characters go toe to toe with each other and push them beyond their limits, at times, One Piece features fights that are absolutely one-sided and humiliating for the adversaries.

Sometimes, the main characters are the ones who suffer these defeats while sometimes, it is the villains of the story who end up on the receiving end of such beatdowns. While there are quite a few of those in One Piece, only a few stand on top as the most memorable ones.

8 Luffy Vs Crocodile (Round 1)

Crocodile defeats Luffy

Luffy's fight against Crocodile in Arabasta served as a reality check for him. While he cruised through the East Blue, the Grand Line was a different level for him that he was not ready for when he first met Crocodile. Luffy and Crocodile faced each other outside of Rain Dinners and this fight ended within two minutes.

Luffy was utterly outclassed by Crocodile and stabbed right through the gut without even landing a single blow on him. As a result, he ended up losing this fight in a very humiliating manner and would have died had Nico Robin not saved him.

7 Luffy vs Bellamy

One Piece Luffy VS Bellamy

Being the main character of One Piece, it is unsurprising to see Luffy be a part of most fights and his clash against Bellamy certainly was embarrassing for the latter. When Luffy went to retrieve the gold that belonged to Cricket from Bellamy, the latter resorted to mocking him and was eventually defeated with a single punch.

The difference in strength and class between the two pirates was glaringly obvious and it is one of the humiliating defeats that fans absolutely enjoy to this day.

6 Luffy Vs Blueno

One Piece Blueno fights against Luffy

During the Enies Lobby arc, Luffy first fought against Blueno before he traded blows with Lucci. He debuted his powerful Gear Second technique against Blueno and once activated, he completely outclassed him, delivering blows from all directions without the latter even being able to touch him.

What makes this even more embarrassing for Blueno is the fact that Luffy hadn't even gotten used to his powers at this point. Even though his body wasn't accustomed to the stress caused by Gear Second, he completely demolished him, humiliating both him and CP9 at the same time.

5 Tashigi Vs Law

Tashigi in One Piece

On Punk Hazard, the Navy traded blows with Trafalgar Law despite him being a member of the Seven Warlords of the Sea. Tashigi rushed into the battle headfirst and ended up paying for it dearly. With a single swing of his sword, Law chopped her in half and told her that she is incredibly weak and as a result, cannot choose how she dies.

This defeat was quite humiliating for Tashigi, who burst into tears after seeing her enemy not finish her off. This was especially sad for her, given that she had just returned stronger after the timeskip but lost the very first fight she was in.

4 Luffy Vs Kaido (Round 1)

Luffy vs Kaido

Luffy's fight against Kaido is quite simply the worst defeat that he has ever faced. When the two clashed in Kuri, Luffy threw everything that he had at him. Having earned a 1.5 billion berry bounty, fans hoped that, at the very least, Luffy would scratch Kaido, however, much to the surprise of all readers, he didn't even make a dent.

Moments later, he was one-shot by Kaido and left in a pool of his own blood, making it his worst defeat so far in One Piece.

3 Kuma Vs Straw Hat Pirates

Luffy attacking Kuma

Kuma played a major role in One Piece during the Sabaody Archipelago arc. Although he did what he did to save the Straw Hat Pirates, and the time, it appeared as if he was against them.

Kuma separated all the members of the crew and, in a way, defeated all of them with a few swings of his hand. Kuma tore apart the Straw Hat Pirates and, to the world, it appeared as if he destroyed the entire crew by himself. Until the Straw Hat crew regrouped, this was believed to be a catastrophic annihilation of one of the strongest rookie crews in the story.

2 Zoro Vs Mihawk

Zoro Fights World Strongest Man

Zoro fought against Mihawk during the Baratie arc, thinking that he was strong enough to defeat him and become the strongest swordsman in the world. He vastly underestimated the skill of the many fighters in the world and, at the same time overestimated his own abilities.

Zoro was shamefully defeated by Mihawk using a pocket knife. Although he earned Mihawk's respect, the way Hawkeyes dealt with him in combat was nothing short of humiliating for Zoro.

1 Kid Vs Shanks

Kid recently fought against Shanks in Elbaf and faced a crushing defeat. Before the fight began, Shanks's allies tried to confront Kid and, given that they are notoriously weak, Kid was going to obliterate them.

To prevent that from happening, Shanks lept into combat and completely dismantled Kid and Killer in a single swing of his sword. On this very day, the Kid Pirates were utterly destroyed.
