Luffy has some incredible Devil Fruit feats and some of them can be considered to be the best in the entire world.

6 Created Gear Second

Arc: Enies Lobby

Luffy using Gear Second

When Luffy ate the Gomu Gomu no Mi, the powers of this fruit were quite apparent to the fans. Essentially, the fruit turned Luffy's body into rubber. This power was very basic, however, Luffy figured out incredible ways to utilize it that anyone else couldn't even think of.

Using his incredible creativity, Luffy was able to copy the Soru ability of CP9. Essentially, he took advantage of the fact that his entire body was made of rubber, including his heart as well as his arteries and, because of that, he was able to increase the speed at which blood flowed through his body. Luffy used the rubber powers to dope himself and give him a significant strength boost, which is what he called Gear Second. This ability saw him push himself beyond all his limits and crush the power of CP9.

5 Created Gear Third

If Gear Second wasn't enough, Luffy also developed the ability to utilize the power of the giants through his Devil Fruit, and he managed this through the usage of Gear Third. By biting directly into his bone, Luffy was able to inflate his bones themselves and turn his skeleton into that of a giant.

As such, all the blows from his giant limbs were strong enough to crush even giant warships of the Navy. Even a character as strong as Rob Lucci almost lost consciousness just from one attack.

4 Fused Haki With Fruit To Create Gear Fourth

Arc: Dressrosa

Luffy's Gear 4 Transformation in One Piece

Gear Second and Gear Third were certainly great steps for Luffy in achieving incredible powers with amazing feats. However, one of the biggest feats that Luffy managed with his Devil Fruit is the creation of Gear Fourth. This Gear saw Luffy put his innovative mind to the test once again on Ruskaina. In order to win the battles against the massively powerful beasts on the island, Luffy had to create something interesting, and he finally came up with the solution of inflating his muscles to create a giant muscular form.

While creating Gear Fourth was certainly an amazing feat for Luffy, he took this power one step further and created many forms of this ability. Luffy developed Bounceman, which was a balanced version, and he also developed Snakeman, which was oriented toward speed-based combat.

Luffy also developed Tankman, another form that was rather defensive in nature. All things considered, Luffy developed many forms of Fear Fourth, which saw him increase his adaptability to various combat-based situations.

2 Awakened Gomu Gomu no Mi

Arc: Wano Country

Luffy Nika Gear 5 Oda Freedom One Piece 1103

By far, one of the greatest feats that Luffy has pulled off is the awakening of the Gomu Gomu no Mi. At this point, fans found out that the true name of the Gomu Gomu no Mi was the Hito Hito no Mi, model: Nika. This fruit was unawakened for 800 years and Luffy was the first person in 8 centuries to awaken it. Awakening a fruit is a very tedious task and requires the mind and the body to finally catch up with one's abilities. This happened during Luffy's fight against Kaido as he was pushed beyond all his limits.

Once that happened, Luffy finally managed to awaken his Devil Fruit and this allowed him to access a completely new form, called Gear 5. Luffy refers to this form as the peak of his abilities and it certainly is.

1 Brings Imagination Into Reality

Arc: Egghead Island

Luffy uses Gear 5

In Gear 5, Luffy can fight with immense freedom, however he wills and he can do things that are seemingly impossible for others. Quite easily, Luffy's greatest feats in Gear 5 are those that see his imagination being put to the test. The power of Gear 5 is such that Luffy can do anything that his mind can imagine.

This ranges from being able to do things such as running in mid-air, to creating things by giving them shape, as seen when he created a pair of goggles during the fight against Lucci on Egghead. This incredibly overpowered ability is quite clearly one of Luffy's greatest powers and unlocking it is an incredible feat.
