Bonney has unlocked her nika powers in One Piece. She and Luffy will be a powerful duo.

In One Piece chapter 1118, as the Straw Hat Pirates prepared to escape from Egghead, Jewelry Bonney decided to copy Monkey D. Luffy and become a powerful force in the path of the Elders. Using the power of her Devil Fruit, she was able to envision a future where she was free like no other individual, and she ended up becoming Nika. Now, there are two Nikas on Egghead Island, and it will be absolutely incredible to see how Bonney utilizes this power moving forward.

Bonney uses her power in One Piece

Quite easily, Jewelry Bonney is one of the strongest individuals in the world of One Piece right now. In fact, she has immense potential, and in the future, she might even go on to become one of the strongest pirates of all time. Bonney is just 12 years old at this point, and she can effortlessly take down even Vice Admirals, as was seen in the previous chapter. Bonney is very powerful, and much of that is down to the ability that was directly injected into her as a baby, the Toshi Toshi no Mi. This is an incredibly powerful fruit that gives Bonney the ability to alter the ages of herself and the people around her.

I don't know how your powers work, but you've got this, Bonney!

When these ages are applied to living things, fans know that the transformation is only for a limited period of time. Bonney cannot permanently become an old person, and she will, in certain instances, revert to her old child body. Similarly, Bonney cannot change the ages of other individuals permanently, and they revert to their actual age after a certain amount of time. While this is certainly a terrifying ability, as it can even defeat the likes of Vice Admirals, it is not the strongest power that she possesses. Bonney's strongest ability is, by far, Distorted Future. Using this power, Bonney can essentially envision any future and make it a reality. This is a fantastic ability that essentially lets Bonney make anything that she thinks is possibly real.

For instance, Bonney can transform herself into a Buccaneer by imagining a future where she is a Buccaneer. Similarly, she can transform herself into an individual from any other race if she imagines a future like that. Recently, fans saw her turn into a Giant just by imagining a future where she was a Giant herself. Clearly, this ability is incredibly overpowered, and Bonney made full use of it in One Piece chapter 1118 when she essentially utilized it to transform into Nika.

The D clan has a huge hidden secret. Vegapunk will soon bring this to light in One Piece.

Bonney could summon a Nika-like future before, where she got her rubbery body; however, this was before she actually saw Luffy transform into the true Nika. Now, Bonney simply envisioned being the freest person without any restrictions, and she ended up transforming into the real Nika, giving herself white hair, the smoke cloud around the neck, as well as white clothes. Bonney is incredibly overpowered now, and fans will surely get to see her fight on Egghead very soon.

Bonney's Lack Of Faith In Something

Bonney's Biggest Weakness Is Her Faith The Future She Envisions

One of the biggest disadvantages of having Distorted Future is that Bonney actually needs to believe in a future if she wants to take that form. For instance, if a future is deemed impossible, then Bonney cannot make that future a reality in any way or form. There needs to be a possibility for whatever it is she envisions to really exist in order for her to gain access to that power. For instance, Bonney knows that the Buccaneer people exist, because her father is one. As a result, she can transform into a Buccaneer. Similarly, Bonney can transform into a Giant because she has actually seen Giant with her own eyes. This means she can take the form of a Giant and cause utter devastation.

Its powers might allow you to transform into any future, but the more you know of reality, the narrower your future possibilities become.

In the early parts of Egghead, Bonney could not make use of Nika's powers, and this was because her faith in God was wavering. Saturn tried to downplay Nika as just a legend, which essentially shook her core. This prevented her from transforming into Nika. However, after Bonney saw Luffy transform into Nika with her own eyes, she was able to take this form for herself quite easily. As such, one of the biggest weaknesses that this power has is that whatever future Bonney wants to envision and take for herself is going to be dependent on whether she thinks it is real or not. Other than that, Bonney is free to take whatever future she wants and wreak havoc on her enemies.

Bonney's Stamina

Bonney's Ability Is Dependent On Her Stamina As Well

Another big weakness of Bonney's Distorted Future is going to be the stamina drain this ability causes. Clearly, Oda cannot give Bonney unrestricted power that she can utilize however much she wants or whenever she wants. Distorted Future is an ability that takes a toll on Bonney, however, usually, she utilizes her transformations for a short stint and then transforms back into her normal form. This is going to be similar in the case of Nika as well. Bonney cannot likely maintain this for an hour or 2-hour long fight, let alone a fight that lasts for days. This is down to the fact that Bonney is just a child, and this Devil Fruit is likely very draining on her.

Furthermore, the Nika transformation should be especially draining, given how much stamina it sees Luffy consume. This should also apply to Bonney, and this essentially means that Bonney cannot make as good use of this ability as Luffy. Still, in the face of danger, Bonney can unleash great power, and that is what makes her truly special as the second Nika of One Piece.

Other than these things, Bonney will only be affected by standard Devil Fruit weaknesses, which fans know to be seastone, which emits the same wavelength as the seawater itself, and at the same time, ocean, which, if it sees her submerged over ¾ parts of her body, then she will be unable to utilize her powers.

Fans will most definitely get to see other limitations that Bonney has in the upcoming chapters, but for now, they should keep in mind that these are the things that she needs to be aware of while utilizing this sensational power in One Piece.

One Piece is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus app. The release date for the next chapter of One Piece, One Piece 1119, is set to be June 30, 2024.
