Trafalgar Law is one of the members of the Worst Generation. He made his debut in the series in the Sabaody Archipelago arc. From the very first moment, it seemed that Law was going to play an important role in One Piece. Towards the end of the Paramount War, Law turned up at Marineford, and he took Luffy and Jimbei on his ship.

Both Law and Jimbei had suffered horrific injuries, and it was Law, who saved their lives with the help of his devil fruit powers. He met the Straw Hats once again at Punk Hazard, and it was during this arc that Law formed an alliance with them. The main purpose of the alliance was to get rid of Kaido and free the land of Wano. It has been a very prevalent theory that Trafalgar Law might die at some point in the story, and with the release of One Piece chapter 1063, it seems that this theory might actually turn into reality.

Showdown With Blackbeard

Trafalgar Law from Chapter 1063

After defeating Big Mom and Kaido, the three Supernova captains decided to go their separate ways. The Straw Hat Pirates are on their way to Egghead Island and Kid's location remains unknown. In chapter 1063, the Heart Pirates were being attacked by the Blackbeard Pirates.

It is unknown when the two pirate crews came in contact with each other, but judging by the dialogue in the chapter it appears that the chase was going on for quite some time. The members of the Heart Pirates were affected by the power of Doc Q's Sick Sick fruit. The devil fruit has the power to create any kind of sickness, which can spread from one individual to another rapidly. At first, Law was the only person who was afflicted with it, but as soon as his crew members came in contact with him, they caught it too.

However, Law showed a brand-new ability, which is related to Haki. He stated that with enough Haki, the devil fruit abilities can be undone, and that is precisely what he used to cancel the power of Doc Q's devil fruit. Law and his crew continued to sail until they reached an island, but before they could breathe a sigh of relief, Van Augur used the power of his Warp Warp fruit to send Jesus Burgess to the island. Then it was time for Burgess to show the power of his Strong Strong Fruit.

With his devil fruit ability, Burgess lifted an entire mountain and threw it toward Law's crew. Luckily for them, Law's devil fruit enabled him to destroy the mountain. After surviving the onslaught of Blackbeard's underlings, it was time for the Commodore to step in. The Emperor made quite an appearance by riding on Stronger, who had eaten the Horse Horse fruit, Model: Pegasus. This was followed by a brief conversation between Law and Blackbeard. Blackbeard was targeting the three captains in order to get his hands on the rubbings of the Road Poneglyphs. In the final panel, Blackbeard and Law were seen talking about how the winner of their fight will take the Road Poneglyphs of the other.

Law's Fate

Blackbeard vs Trafalgar Law

Trafalgar Law is not an ordinary pirate by any means. He has a bounty of 3 billion berries, which is one of the highest in the series. Law displayed his strength when he managed to take down Big Mom, although he needed help from Eustass Kid. Law possesses the Ope Ope no Mi, which has been called the "ultimate devil fruit" by Donquixote Doflamingo. The devil fruit allows Law to create ROOMs in which he can control all the objects and their movements. Law has also awakened his devil fruit which allows him to use our idea of attacks.

So he is more than a capable fighter. All these abilities would normally be sufficient to defeat almost any character in One Piece, but sadly, Law's opponent is one of the Yonko. Blackbeard has two of the most powerful devil fruits at his disposal and one of them allows him to nullify the effects of other devil fruits. Blackbeard's Haki also seems to be quite formidable as it allowed him to block the attack of a Seraphim. So in a 1v1 black beard should be able to secure a victory.

Even if Law manages to defeat Blackbeard, the latter's crew is way more powerful than the Heart Pirates. If Blackbeard's underlings manage to take Law's crew hostage then the Supernova would have no choice but to lay down his arms. So in both cases, Blackbeard will triumph. The biggest question that the fans are asking is whether Oda will show the fight in the next chapter, but considering his way of handling things it seems unlikely that we will get to know the result of this fight anytime soon.

If Blackbeard manages to win then he would get his hands on the two Road Poneglyphs that are in Law's possession. It also seems that Blackbeard has sent Aokiji to Whole Cake Island to kidnap Charlotte Pudding and maybe even steal the Road Poneglyph that was in Big Mom's possession. Blackbeard plans to use Pudding's Third Eye to read the Poneglyphs. If things do go this way, then Blackbeard would be very close to Laugh Tale and to One Piece.
