Known to be the strongest pirate in the world of One Piece, Kaido is one of the Yonko of the seas. He was once an apprentice on Rocks D. Xebec's ship where he grew up under the wing of the likes of Big Mom, and Whitebeard, among other legendary figures. Years later, Kaido started his own crew, called the Beasts Pirates, and climbed his way to the top of the pirate era, being declared as the "Strongest Creature on Land, Air, and Sea."

Kaido's strength is nothing short of incredible and in the Wano Country arc, fans finally got a glimpse of what he was truly capable of. Living up to his reputation of being the strongest, Kaido fought the likes of the Red Scabbards, followed by the Worst Generation. While a great display of his power was given to fans throughout all fights, it wasn't until he fought Luffy that he unleashed his full power, which he displays through various Drunk Modes, through Shuron Hakke.

What Is Shuron Hakke?

Kaido-Drunk

Shuron Hakke, also known as Drunken Dragon Bagua, is a state that Kaido can enter upon consuming alcohol in the midst of battle. Although one would assume that Kaido gets weaker after getting drunk, that's not quite the case. On the contrary, Kaido becomes far stronger than he normally is when he enters Shuron Hakke. His movements become completely unpredictable and even a skilled Future Sight Observation Haki user had a bit of trouble landing hits on him. Kaido's attack patterns become random and, consequently, hard to evade.

Furthermore, in this state, Kaido also gains the ability to switch through his many Zoan forms rapidly. Kaido can be seen as a dragon one moment and seconds later, he is in his hybrid form. This ability makes him much more versatile as a fighter, and it's simply way too hard to keep up with his powers. Above all, Shuron Hakke makes Kaido's Haki much stronger than it normally is. According to Luffy, when Kaido entered the Shuron Hakke or the Drunken Dragon Bagua state, his Haki power kept rising rapidly with time, pushing Kaido to the very peak of his abilities and making him stronger than ever before. After entering Shuron Hakke, Kaido then gains access to multiple "drunk modes," where his personality changes erratically and this affects his powers as well.

The Many Drunk Modes Of Kaido

Depending on his drunken mood swings, Kaido is able to enter various drunk modes and freely switch between them. Every more offers him some sort of power, although in some cases, it isn't exactly understood what the form is capable of.

The very first drunk mode that fans saw Kaido use was the Laughing Drunk mode. When in this form, Kaido powers up exceptionally and got extremely buffed. His teeth grow out more and his hybrid form looks far more beastly than usual. In this form, he used the "Lightning Hammered Ragnaraku" against Luffy, which was several times stronger than the regular Ragnaraku. Shortly after entering the Laughing Drunk Mode, Kaido switched to Depressed Drunk mode and switched to his dragon form immediately. Kaido then proceeded to spam attacks unpredictably and have Luffy quite a tough time.

Another one of Kaido's Drunk Modes, Crying Drunk sees him drown himself in his tears and unleash powerful techniques such as Thunder Bagua. Surprisingly, Luffy was able to completely evade the technique with Future Sight and hit him with Conqueror's Haki. Despite that, Kaido's Haki kept getting stronger and Luffy was thrown back.

One of the most ferocious Drunk Modes of Kaido, Angry Drunk sees him filled with rage and attack his enemies with immense power, surpassing the power of his other Drunk Modes. Against Luffy, Kaido proceeded to use Boro Breath and then matched Luffy's Gatling with a Kundali Dragon Swarm.

One of the more confusing modes of Kaido, the Flirty Drunk mode is quite self-explanatory. In this mode, Kaido openly flirted with Luffy, however, it is unknown how exactly this influenced his powers. Kaido then proceeded to use Future Sight Observation Haki to counter Luffy's Snakeman, but it is unknown if he can use his form of Haki in just his Flirting Drunk mode or not.

Thieving Drunk is one of the most intriguing modes of Kaido. As the name suggests, Kaido pretty much steals the techniques of his opponents and copies them flawlessly. When used against Snakeman, he was able to copy Luffy's Hydra and move in the air similarly, then attack Luffy with the sheer ferocity of his dragon form.

Quite possibly the strongest mode of Kaido, the Homicidal Drunk mode sees him at his absolute peak. In this mode, Kaido gains a far more monstrous appearance and his power and speed appear to be much greater than usual. Kaido also uses what could be one of his strongest Haki techniques, called Horai Hakke, or Raging Thunder Bagua.

Evidently, Kaido is an incredibly powerful fighter and with his drunk modes, lives up to the title of the strongest pirate in the story. While fans have already seen enough of what he's capable of, Kaido could still have more in his locker that he might use in his fight against Luffy soon enough.
