Kizaru is one of the strongest people in the world of One Piece. He serves as an Admiral of the Navy and that automatically makes him a force to be reckoned with. The Straw Hat Pirates have quite some experience dealing with Kizaru, given that they fought against him on Sabaody 2 years before the current timeline of the story. Back then, Kizaru proved to be an overwhelming force that the group could not overcome.
Now, Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates are faced with this monstrous fighter once again. However, this time, things are quite different. For one, the Straw Hat Pirates are much stronger than they were 2 years ago. That said, dealing with an Admiral of the Navy is always difficult. Fans already know that Kizaru possesses an overpowered Devil Fruit. However, he has much more than that in his locker. He also has incredible Haki that he has already displayed on some occasions in the story.
Kizaru's Haki Types
Kizaru is one of the Admirals of the Navy and that automatically qualifies him for two powerful Haki types. Every Marine that possesses the rank of Vice Admiral and above has access to strong Haki. For an Admiral, this skill has likely been trained to the highest level. Fans know for a fact that Kizaru possesses two Haki types and he has also demonstrated its usage in battle. The first type of Haki that Kizaru possesses is the Color of Observation, also known as Observation Haki. This power is incredible and grants the user a sixth sense ability that allows them to see attacks in their mind's eye, similar to precognition, measure power levels, feel the presence of living beings around them, and discern emotions, among other things. It also has some advanced applications that the fans have seen throughout the series, making it an exceptional ability.
The second type of Haki that Kizaru possesses is the Color of Arms, also known as Armament Haki. This type of Haki acts like an invisible armor around the user and allows them to improve both their offensive and defensive capabilities. This Haki is exceptional and it can easily help the user guard against powerful incoming attacks or, it can be infused into their regular attacks, in turn, increasing the offensive output by severalfold. A big advantage that the user gains with this type of Haki is that they can bypass the protection offered by Devil Fruits entirely.
Kizaru's Usage Of Haki
Kizaru is an excellent user of Haki and fans have seen him make use of this ability extensively during the Marineford arc, where he fought against the Whitebeard Pirates. Fans saw him make incredible usage of the Color of Armament in his fights throughout the Marineford arc. Of course, this ability was not fully explained to the fans during the arc, which meant not much was understood about how well he used it at the time. However, looking back at the war arc, it was quite clear that Kizaru made use of this skill. For instance, he used it in conjunction with the other two Admirals to stop one of Whitebeard's powerful quakes.
In fact, to dispel the quake, he made use of an advanced application of the skill, called Ryuo, which lets the user emit Haki in an outward direction, improving the efficiency of the skill greatly. Furthermore, in Egghead, Kizaru took a powerful blow from Sentomaru directly to the face and didn't even budge, showing great defensive application of this skill. This automatically suggests that Kizaru has a very high level of control over Armament Haki.
Kizaru has also displayed incredible usage of Observation Haki. Once again, this came during the Marineford arc, where he fought against several powerful enemies. Kizaru was able to keep up with Marco, which just goes to show that he's incredibly adept at using this skill. If that wasn't enough, he was easily able to avoid most attacks launched at him, even by the likes of Whitebeard. Given that Kizaru has an extremely fast Devil Fruit, he made use of his Haki very well in conjunction with this ability.
In fact, Kizaru potentially even has access to an advanced form of this Haki. He has even evaded Haki-based attacks similar to how Katakuri does it. More recently, he was able to split his body in two when Sentomaru attacked him with Haki. This suggests that Kizaru might be able to see the future as well.
How Strong Is Kizaru's Haki Compared To Luffy?
Kizaru is an Admiral of the Navy and that automatically means that he has to be strong enough to fight against the mightiest of pirates on the seas. The Yonko have displayed exceptional abilities over the years and only a handful of fighters can stand up to them. Kizaru certainly is one of them, although his strength might pale slightly in comparison to these powerful Yonko. When it comes to Devil Fruit, Kizaru has a fruit that is certainly not weak and can stand up to the power that Luffy possesses as well. That said, Luffy's ability is certainly superior, given how coveted and special it is.
When it comes to Haki, Luffy has refined both his Haki types to a great degree, and Kizaru, while also a user of advanced Haki applications, certainly hasn't shown anything that should put him in the same bracket as Luffy. Both of his Haki types should be inferior to those of Luffy. Furthermore, Luffy is also a user of the Color of the Supreme King and this is the strongest type of Haki in One Piece. Kizaru does not have access to this ability and this is a massive difference between these two fighters.
Kizaru's Overall Strength
When analyzing Kizaru's strength, One can easily tell that he is extremely strong. His biggest strength is certainly his Devil Fruit, the Pika Pika no Mi. This Devil Fruit is his trump card as it offers him light-related powers. Kizaru's Devil Fruit is certainly one of the most overpowered ones seen in One Piece and his Haki only makes him a stronger monster. He also possesses a tremendous amount of stamina and he has shown that he's capable of fighting extended battles.
Taking all things into consideration, Kizaru is a monstrous fighter who can certainly take on Luffy in combat. In fact, fans can expect him to push Luffy to quite a difficult fight, however, it should never be expected of him to win this clash. Luffy is one of the Four Emperors of the Sea and on top of that, he has mastered every single skill that he possesses. He has a limitless imagination and he certainly is on top of his game. Kizaru, strong as he is, is nowhere near that level. Of course, fans will see him make use of his abilities in unique ways that will pose problems for Luffy. However, at the end of the day, it is Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates who will emerge victorious.
