The Seraphim were recently introduced in One Piece and appear to be important characters moving forward in the final act of the story. They were first hinted at shortly after the reverie concluded and Fujitora spoke to Akainu while setting out on a mission. Is a known fact that the Seraphims are the perfected and upgraded version of the Pacifista and that they've been created by the SSG of the World Government. The project of creating the Seraphim was led by none other than Dr. Vegapunk, the genius scientist of the Navy.

It appears that all the Seraphims are based on the former Warlords of the Sea who were stripped of their titles following the events of the Reverie. Fans were introduced to the Seraphims of Hancock, Mihawk, and Jinbe during the Egghead Island Arc. Recently, however, in One Piece chapter 1086, fans saw three more Seraphims and they belong to Doflamingo, Crocodile, and, of course, Gecko Moria.

How Gecko Moria's Seraphim Was Made

Gecko Moria's Seraphim was made very recently, however, it was likely in the works for quite a long time. The creation of the Seraphims is heavily reliant on Vegapunk's greatest discovery in his entire career as a scientist and that is Lineage Factor. He discovered Lineage Factor during his time with the MADS scientists and this was made known in the Whole Cake Island arc of One Piece through Yonji. Yonji told Sanji that Vinsmoke Judge has found the blueprint of life itself called Lineage Factor and that he did this together with Vegapunk long before the two split up and went their own ways.

Using this Lineage Factor, Vegapunk has been able to clone people, and usage of this technology has already been seen in the Whole Cake Island arc through the men Vinsmoke Judge uses to create his indomitable Germa forces as well. Vegapunk, on the other hand, is known to have cloned people such as Stussy, who once belonged to the Rocks Pirates and, now, he has also cloned the likes of the Seraphims. The parent bodies of the Seraphims are none other than the Former Warlords of the Sea. Given that they were affiliated with the World Government, it is believed that, at some point, Vegapunk got a hand on their Lineage Factor and that is precisely what he used to recreate their child-like versions.

Using Lineage Factor, Vegapunk managed to clone the Former Warlords, however, there is more to them than just using the Lineage Factor of these powerful pirates. On top of having the Lineage Factor of the former Shichibukai, the Seraphims are also bestowed with the abilities of the Lunarian race. Vegapunk extracted the Lunarian Lineage Factor from Alber, who later went by the name of King and served the role of All-Star in the Beast Pirates. Infusing the Lineage Factor of King with that of the former Warlords, Vegapunk ensured that all of them gained the powers of the race of Lunaria.

As such, every single member of the Seraphims has black wings, white hair, brown skin, and a giant flame on their backs. The blood of the Lunarian race means that the Seraphims are incredibly powerful, however, their powers don't just stem from the tribe of the Lunaria. In fact, they also have another power in their body, and that stems from something that Vegapunk created very recently, named Green Blood. This Green Blood flows through the veins of every single Seraphim, and Gecko Moria's Seraphim is certainly not going to be any different.

The Power Of Moria's Seraphim

Three new Seraphim

Gecko Moria's Seraphim most certainly has incredible powers up its sleeve. Much of its power comes from Green Blood, which Vegapunk created very recently. Essentially, Green Blood is created by studying the Lineage Factor of the Devil Fruits and manufacturing blood with it. However, this process does not work on just any Devil Fruit and is exclusive to the Paramecia type Devil Fruits only. On the other hand, the Zoan-type Devil Fruits can be fully recreated, as was confirmed when Vegapunk managed to recreate the Devil Fruit of Kaido, only his version of the dragon was pink instead of blue.

Sadly, Vegapunk was not able to recreate Logia-type abilities. According to him, the process is far too complex and, at the same time, would require a tremendous amount of time as well as financial backing, which he does not have. For these reasons, only Paramecia and Zoan types of abilities have been recreated using the Lineage Factor. Thankfully, Gecko Moria has a Paramecia type of Devil Fruit, and this means that his Devil Fruit ability can be successfully recreated using Green Blood. It can be safely assumed that Gecko Moria's Seraphim has Green Blood flowing through its veins as well and that this Green Blood grants him Devil Fruit powers of the Kage Kage no Mi.

As fans know already, the Kage Kage no Mi is an incredibly powerful Paramecia Devil Fruit that grants one the ability to manipulate all shadows. They can take shadows from anyone and give them to non-living things to power them up. At the same time, these shadows can also be absorbed by the user themselves, and doing so grants them an immense boost and strength. These shadows can also be put inside other living creatures and, once again, it grants a tremendous boost in power. Clearly, the Kage Kage no Mi is a very powerful Devil Fruit and, the fact that Gecko Moria's seraphim, which is likely going to be named S-Gecko, has it up his sleeve only means that he's going to be that much more dangerous to take on in combat.

How Strong Is Moria's Seraphim

Gecko Moria One Piece

Just like every other Seraphim seen in One Piece so far, Gecko Moria's Seraphim is going to be very powerful. The fact that he has Green Blood courses through its veins carrying a very potent Devil Fruit ability means that this Seraphim is going to be very dangerous. It must be remembered that in his prime, Moria was actually very powerful and could even fight Kaido in the New World. This version of Moria is not old and lazy. Instead, he is young and full of exuberance, which means that his Seraphim is also going to be much more dangerous. At the same time, this Seraphim has also been bolstered with the power of the Lunarian DNA.

This means that it has an impenetrable defense as long as the flames on its back are burning. As fans know already, not even the strongest of attacks in One Piece can pierce their exterior and they can survive in even the most extreme environments. When the flame goes out, the Seraphims get a tremendous boost in physical speed and Gecko Moria's Seraphim will certainly use this ability to the fullest as well.

Furthermore, it appears that all the Seraphims are growing at a tremendous speed and that the experiences of their parent bodies are actually stored within the Lineage Factor. If that is the case, then it shouldn't take them long to hit their full potential and they should grow at a speed much greater than regular humans. It must be remembered that Gecko Moria's Seraphim, along with every other Seraphim seen in the story, was created with the goal of making them the ultimate living beings, and, just for that reason alone, he is going to be tremendously powerful. Fans can only hope that Oda focuses on him more as the story progresses.
