Not many One Piece characters can manage to fool the entire world into believing that they are blessed with a great deal of power, and for this reason alone, Buggy deserves a lot of respect. Before the Summit War, nobody even considered Buggy to be a threat, but due to the numerous revelations in the war, he became quite famous.

Buggy is not a strong character by any means, but due to several incidents, he has developed the reputation of being an infamous pirate. Despite holding the position of one of the Yonko, Buggy is still as funny as when he was first introduced in the series. With that in mind, here are the funniest Buggy moments in One Piece.

5 Being Used As A Human Shield

Mihawk cuts Buggy into pieces

Buggy and his group of followers arrived at Marineford in very high spirits. The prisoners firmly believed in Buggy and his abilities, and because of this, they were ready to follow Buggy to hell and back.

As Luffy tried to make his way toward Ace, he found Mihawk blocking the way. Luffy knew that he could not beat Mihawk, and luckily for him, Buggy was caught in a sandstorm created by Crocodile. Using his devil fruit power, Luffy dragged Buggy out of the storm and used him as a shield to block Mihawk's attack. Buggy was furious with Luffy's behavior, but more importantly, he was displeased with Mihawk's attacks. In his rage, Buggy attacked Mihawk with his special cannonball, but the latter easily deflected the attack back toward Buggy.

4 Challenging Whitebeard

Buggy and his followers at Marineford

Buggy was one of the main highlights of the Marineford Arc. He was responsible for providing the much-needed comedic value to a very serious arc. With all the deaths taking place, Buggy managed to keep things light. In the Impel Down arc, Buggy gained a lot of followers, who believed he was the pinnacle of power.

They mindlessly followed him everywhere he went and acted as his biggest cheerleaders. When Buggy and his group were close to Whitebeard's ship, the prisoners asked Buggy to attack Whitebeard. In order to keep up the pretense, Buggy had no other option, but to agree. Whitebeard called Buggy "Red Nose," which infuriated the latter and caused him to lash out. Once Buggy realized that he was talking to the Yonko, he realized that he was in trouble. Luckily for Buggy, Whitebeard did not want to fight and instead offered him an opportunity to fight with him. Buggy immediately leaped at the chance, and thus, he managed to keep up his act.

3 Instant Karma

Luffy and Buggy running away

After Luffy found out that Ace was going to be executed by the Marines, he decided to break him out of Impel Down. Luffy did not care about the fact that only one person had ever broken out of Impel Down in its history, and that person was Shiki. While Luffy was inside Impel Down, he stumbled across Buggy, who was imprisoned there. When Buggy met Luffy, the former immediately recognized the bracelet that Luffy was wearing on his left arm belonged to Captain John, and it was a marker for his treasure.

Buggy decided to tag along to get his hands on the bracelet, but he unwittingly told Luffy about the importance of the bracelet, and Luffy being the simpleton that he is, offered to give him the bracelet because he was only focused on saving Ace. When Luffy gave Buggy the bracelet, the latter was overwhelmed with emotions, and he couldn't believe that Luffy would do such a thing. Buggy was shedding tears, and calling himself all sorts of bad things, but it was all a ruse as he just wanted to find a way to get out of his promise. While Buggy was planning to run away, he was not aware of what was in front of him, and he crashed straight into a wall.

2 Interaction With Shanks

Shanks and Buggy were part of the crew of the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger. The rest of the world did not have an idea that someone like Buggy actually traveled with Gol D. Roger. When Shanks arrived at Marineford to stop the war, he came across Luffy's Straw Hat. He threw the hat to Buggy and asked the latter to give it to Luffy, but Buggy refused. So, Shanks decided to lie, and he created a fake story about a treasure map.

Buggy didn't want to miss out on more treasure, so he accepted Shanks' request and gave the Straw Hat to Law. When Buggy came back, he was furious to find that Shanks had lied to him. Buggy went into a meltdown and began to talk about starting a war with Shanks. Once again, Buggy's words left a wrong impression on his followers, who believed that their captain was openly challenging Shanks.

1 Little Buggy's Adventure

Small sized Buggy from One Piece

After being sent to an island that was full of wildlife, Buggy made a raft for himself to leave the island. Nami had tied up parts of his body, so when he reassembled his body, it was small, which put him at risk. As soon as he started to sail, Buggy was attacked by ferocious fish, but somehow he made it to the next island.

Shortly after his arrival, Buggy began to chase a chick with a knife and a fork, but unfortunately for the pirate, the bird's parent found him and ate him. Buggy wasn't out of luck as the bird couldn't swallow him and spat him out so hard that he ended up on the same island as Gaimon. Overall, the entire time that Buggy was turned into a tiny version of himself was hilarious.
