One Piece is going places with its latest manga chapters taking the fans on a roller-coaster ride with ups and downs. The fans are in great turmoil and are eager to know what happened at Egghead island, Reverie at Mary Geoise, How did Sabo manage to escape from the island that was erased from the face of Earth, and answers to other such questions are required by the fans. Eiichiro Oda never fails to surprise or drop great reveal bombs on the fans of One Piece, his storytelling style is known for great foreshadowing and building up to satisfying climaxes without any fails.
But sometimes Oda underestimates the One Piece fans as the fans are sometimes too smart and bang on in speculating what will happen in the story arc in the manga or even what will happen in the future of the story of One Piece. They make some fine fan theories regarding the plot of One Piece, there are too many fan theories to even mention, but some fan theories are more feasible and concrete than others and one such concrete theory is the Red Line theory. This theory is one of those fan theories that have the highest probability of turning out true as the story of the manga proceeds.
The Red Line Theory
This One Piece fan theory became famous around 2017 on various platforms like Reddit and YouTube. It speculates that the endgame of One Piece would include the destruction of the Red Line, a large wall-like continent that divides the single Blue Sea into four seas: East Blue, West Blue, South Blue, and North Blue. Red Line goes too deep from the surface to as deep as the ocean floor. The theory further states that the Red Line would be destroyed for it would solve a lot of problems and fulfill the ambitions of numerous main characters Sanji will finally be able to find the All Blue as the Red Line will get destroyed and the division it created in the Blue Sea will also get destroyed.
As a result of Red Line's destruction, Brook will reunite with Laboon, Frankie would be the shipwright with a ship that has sailed around the world, and the Mary Geoise will also be destroyed along with the Red Line with it will fall down the rule and authority of the Celestial Dragons. This would also mean that Fishman Island to return to the surface meaning that Madame Sharly's vision might come true. Besides this, Nami will be able to map the entire world. As far as Luffy is concerned, his definition of becoming the Pirate King is becoming the person with the most freedom in the world and the Red Line is an obstacle to freedom as it poses a border limiting where one can go so destroying it the not just Luffy, but also the world will become freer. With the Red Line's fall and no divisions in the Blue Sea, the world would become One Piece, and the story would come full circle.
Possible Challenges To the Theory
The theory has evolved over the years since 2017 as originally it speculated that the former Pirate King Gol D. Roger's treasure was one of the ancient weapons most probably Pluton or Uranus which would be used to obliterate the Red Line. However, th theory got modified with the recent developments in the story of One Piece as by the end of the Wano Country Arc Oda revealed that the ancient weapon Pluton is buried deep under Wano and to release it is required to open Wano country to the world by destroying its borders.
The theory also faces numerous challenges in the form of questions like Why did Roger not destroy the Red Line himself or with the help of his crew? The answer to this question is pretty lucid which is that Roger's time was not right as stated by himself when he and his crew found Joy Boy's treasure on Laugh Tale and that there was still time in return of Joy Boy.
Another big challenge posed to this theory was how Fishman Island could come up to the surface once the Red Line gets destroyed. After the destruction of the Red Line, the princess of the Fishman Island Shirahoshi who is the ancient weapon Poseidon and has the power to command all the sea kings would use her power to command them to pull the Noah (a massive ship) filled with the Fishman island people to the surface. However, all of this is just a commendable fan theory at least for the time being, and it can only be confirmed as the story of One Piece proceeds more and more towards its end which only the genius mind of Eiichiro Oda knows for now.
