As with every member of the Straw Hat Pirates in One Piece, Oda has designed Brook in a way that complements his personality. His clothes often represent parts of his character and over the course of arcs, Brook has donned several interesting clothes.

7 Association To Music Celebrities

Brook Still Playing As The Last Member Of His Original Crew

Brook is a musician and Eiichiro Oda made sure to take inspiration from quite a few of them when designing Brook. Everything about him, from his facial features to the way that he dresses is inspired by music artists such as Jimi Hendrix, Ozzy Osbourne, and Slash, among others.

Oda chose Brook's design and appearance quite carefully and managed to incorporate the best of these artists into his character. These features were prominent before his death when he served as a member of the Rumbar Pirates. After being revived, quite a few of them are lost on his character design, however, some certainly shine due to the many outfits that he wears.

6 The Biggest Clothes...Until Recently

Brook is an incredibly tall man with a height of 266 cms. As such, all his clothes are extremely large as well. Until recently, he was the tallest member of the crew, edging out Franky by quite a bit.

However, after the Wano Country arc, Brook is now the second-tallest member of the crew behind Jinbe. With Yamato's imminent addition, it'll be interesting to see where Brook would rank in the crew. Nonetheless, Brook's clothes are still designed to be extremely large.

5 A Gentleman

Brook's style of dressing, especially before the timeskip, was quite similar to a traditional gentleman get up. He was seen wearing a top hat, trousers, and a coat throughout the Thriller Bark and Sabaody Archipelago arc.

Both his coat and trousers were black, with yellow inner linings. What's more, Brook also wore a blue cravat between his coat, to further emphasize the gentlemanly nature of his character design. After the timeskip, his design changed quite a bit, suggesting that Brook's personality evolved as well.

4 His Way Of The Sword

Brook's finding style is also connected to his gentlemanly way of dressing. He is often seen with a walking stick which also functions as a sword when unsheathed. Just like his gentlemanly personality, Brook's fighting style is also very gentle.

Unlike the power-type swordsman, he relies on elegance and dexterity in combat. This was made apparent in the Thriller Bark arc, where he fought against the zombie of Ryuma, a legendary swordsman of Wano. Often, he manages to end fights before the opponent even knows what hit them. This is, once again, an incredible addition by Eiichiro Oda to Brook's character.

3 After The Timeskip

While Brook was more of a gentleman before the time skip, after his return to Sabaody, his dressing style changed quite a bit. This was in part due to him having become a rock star over the two years, earning an incredible reputation as Soul King. Brook's attire changed quite a bit and he now wears heart-shaped sunglasses, along with a new top hat upon which rests a golden crown.

He also changed his trousers from black to orange-red, which, once again, signifies that he is now much hipper than before. Along with that, Brook also wears a feather boa around his neck and carries a guitar instead of a violin.

2 His Wano Country Outfit

In the Wano Country arc, the majority of the Straw Hat Pirates were either samurai or ninja. Brook's case was quite interesting as he dressed as a Japanese yokai called the Gashadokuro. He wore an all-white kimono with a triangular headband and arrows sticking from his body.

His role was to stand out as a ghost and given his skeletal appearance, this was quite an easy task for him. Brook proved to be quite useful in various instances, such as in Orochi's castle where he managed to locate his Poneglyph and scare away the Oniwabanshu as well.

1 Back To His Roots On Onigashima

Brook Onigashima Design

In the Onigashima section of the Wano Country arc, Brook went back to his roots with another gentlemanly design. He wore a long black-and-white coat and switched to a top hat once again. At the same time, he also decided to wear black trousers, which is yet another nod to his initial design in One Piece.

During the Onigashima Raid, he fought against a member of the Numbers of the Beast Pirates and some of the gifters, and fared quite well against them. Following the conclusion of the war, he sang with Hiyori in a traditional Wano attire.
