The Straw Hat Pirates' doctor, Tony Tony Chopper, also known as the Cotton candy lover, hails from the grand line, specifically, Drum island. He is the 5th individual to join Luffy on his journey to becoming King of the Pirates. Chopper aims to follow his dream of becoming a doctor that can cure any disease or illness.

He is a very beloved character in One Piece, especially for his cute design and attitude, but also for his intelligence and contribution to the story. Just like any other character, Chopper's outfit carries a lot of secrets about his character.

8 Debut Outfit

Chopper's first appearance was in the Drum Island arc in the 134th chapter of the story, and episode 84 in the anime. He was first introduced under his reindeer guise alongside Kureha, who cured a child while he waited along to push her carriage again wearing a saddle, and clothes that covered the majority of his body except for his legs and face. Added to that was his very iconic pink hat with a cross.

Later on, he was seen in his hybrid form after treating Nami for her deadly disease. During this moment, Chopper was seen wearing his hat and his dark purple shorts, which later ended up becoming his trademark outfit for most of the pre-timeskip of One Piece.

7 Monster Chopper

In classic anime logic, Chopper's clothes seem to expand perfectly to cater to his changing hybrid forms and they expand a lot while he accesses his gigantic Monster form. This form was first introduced during the Enies Lobby arc, where he was in a lost fight against Kumadori.

With his back to the wall, he resorted to taking three Rumble Balls, which activated a rogue transformation capable of destroying everything, foe and friend alike. After the timeskip, however, he has learned to control it more, even though it still comes with its disadvantages like a limited time usage of 10 minutes, followed by side effects such as paralysis.

6 His Hat

Chopper's pink hat might be the most iconic feature of his design, coupled with the big X on the middle of it. The X is a throwback to his past when was abandoned by his family for being a bizarre blue-nosed deer who had also consumed a devil fruit.

He was later adopted by Doctor Hililuk, a strange man and the person who eventually raised him and introduced him to medicine. To be more specific, the X is most likely a reference to his profession as a doctor, being a tilted hospital cross, and acting as a symbol for a pirate cross at the same time.

5 His Color

Chopper's main color, as stated by Eiichiro Oda himself, the author of One Piece in a past SBS, is pink. This is apparent in a lot of his outfits, especially in his hat. Almost all his outfits include this color, which just goes to show that Chopper truly adores it.

His 15th-anniversary outfit was by far the most perfect representation of his love for the color. It also ties well to the Sakura that Hililuk ended up creating on Drum Island to cure the country after visiting a country in the west.

4 Post Timeskip Outfit

Chopper spent two years in Torino Kingdom in the South Blue, where he improved his knowledge of medicine, among other things.

After the timeskip, Chopper received a big wardrobe change, most notably his hat, which is starkly different now. Furthermore, his very first post-timeskip outfit also included some light purple shorts and a striped yellow and white shirt.

3 New Hat

Choppers hat carries great significance to his character as it ties him to his mentor, Hililuk, and is his memento. While Chopper always donned it before the timeskip, the appearance of the hat changed quite a bit after.

However, very few fans know that his new hat, according to the author, is still the same pink hat that everyone has grown to love. The only difference is that the hat now carries an additional, usually blue, guard. With his outfit changes, the color of the guard changes, granting Oda more flexibility with the outfits for Chopper.

2 Wano Outfit

From start to finish in the Wano arc, a lot of Straw Hats were pushed out of their comfort zones with new and diverse Japanese-themed outfits.

For Chopper, Kin'emon offered a rather adorable green ninja outfit with some white and pink highlights, and some black fishnets over the arms and legs. This outfit is specifically known as a ninja-yoroei. He also carried a red katana on his waist and some shuriken to perfect his ninja look.

1 Onigashima Outift

With the invasion on Onigashima, all the Straw Hats pirates got an outfit change, and Chopper was no exception to this. He changed from a ninja outfit to a Beast Pirates uniform at first, thanks to Kin'emon Devil Fruit power. His Beast Pirates outfit was quite simple, consisting of the standard black uniform along with a pink helmet that he mainly wore during the "Big Mom chase" section of the arc.

His samurai outfit, on the other hand, was more complex, being a red and gold armor, lacking a lot of his usual pink color. This outfit included was quite intricate and drew a striking resemblance to his armor on the Volume 95 cover, alongside Luffy and Brook.
