The One Piece remake is being made for a good reason. Here's why.

Of course, in order for things to get there, the Straw Hat Pirates still have to deal with the Five Elders on Egghead Island, and that is exactly why One Piece Chapter 1120 is as important as it is. Unfortunately, fans will not be getting a One Piece chapter this week, as there has been a slight delay and postponement of the chapter, as a result.

Oda's Three-Week Release Schedule

Oda Usually Takes A Break After Every Three Weeks

One Piece fans who have been following the series for a long period know that Oda doesn't release his chapters every week. Usually, Oda follows a specific schedule, which sees him drop a certain number of chapters, followed by a break. Up until a few years ago, Oda used to drop around 5 or 6 chapters, which were then followed by a break week. After every six or five chapters, fans used to get a break to prepare themselves for what was next. However, things have changed greatly over the years. As Oda has grown older and more tired, due to the accumulated pressure and stress caused by One Piece, so has his health worsened. As a result, it is a given that Oda needs more break with time. That is precisely what ended up happening in One Piece, and with each passing year, the number of chapters that Oda dropped before a break lessened. Oda started taking a break after every four chapters, and eventually, it went down to three chapters.

Lately, Oda has been struggling with his health quite a bit, and he recently took a month-long break after the death of Toriyama. Oda did clarify that his health was okay but he was just taking precautions, and this was likely because this news did hit him and the manga community very hard. Right now, fans know that Oda has been dropping 13-page chapters for the last few weeks and that usually is not a good sign either. Oda is clearly overworked and that simply implies that he needs a break.

One Piece fans are always wondering if the movies are canon or not. Oda reveals the answer in the newest SBS.

As such, after dropping three chapters in succession, Oda has now taken a 2-week break from One Piece, which means that fans will not be getting a new chapter in the upcoming issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump. Fans will have to wait an additional week to be able to read One Piece and see how the Straw Hat Pirates deal with the Five Elders on Egghead before they finally make their grand escape.

What To Expect From One Piece's Return

One Piece 1118 Nika Bonney Gear 5

Naturally, fans are wondering as to what would happen in the story when One Piece does return. There are many plot points that need to be tackled in the story, and it all depends on how many pages Oda's chapters are going to cover when One Piece returns. Hopefully, Oda will have recovered enough to draw 17-page chapters, and that will simply mean that he can fit in a lot of content per week, simply because there are more pages. Right now, the manga is at the very end of the Egghead Island arc, and its conclusion is incredibly close at this point in time. What fans know for sure is that the Five Elders and the Straw Hat Pirates are set for a clash before they and their allies escape from Egghead. The Iron Giant, Emet, decided to attack Warcury in the previous chapter and did substantial damage to it.

It will be interesting to see how things go in the next chapter, and based on that, the Final Saga of One Piece can be reshaped completely. If Emet holds the key to injuring the Five Elders permanently, then fans might see the Straw Hat Pirates pick up their first clue as to how to injure these monsters and defeat them in combat later down the line. All this depends on how Warcury reacts to his attacks, especially after he utilizes ancient energy in battle.

Put yourself in my shoes. Would you bother yourself with the feelings of insects? It is impossible - Saturn

Something else that fans need to keep in mind is the remaining of the Elders. While Mars is out of the equation, both Saturn and Ju Peter are currently on the island. With Warcury down, these two will likely try to stop the Strawhat Pirates from making their escape, and it will be interesting to see who ends up fighting against them and pushing them back so that the Strawhats manage to escape. One Piece chapter 1120 will most definitely focus on this aspect of the story, and as that happens, fans will truly get to see some characters shine. Luffy has recently taken to Gear 5, which means that he will be on the frontlines, as will be the likes of Sanji and Franky, given that they are right next to him. Bonney is already exhausted, and fans should not expect much from her.

One Piece chapter 1120 will most likely also focus on the eradication of the Vegapunks. Right now, three Vegapunks remain on Egghead, and one of them is York, who has already sided with the Elders. This means that Atlas and Lilith are currently alive, and, at the very least, Oda will want to kill off one of them. This is simply to reduce the number of Vegapunks that are active and simply leave one of them alive. In fact, Oda can also flip the script in One Piece chapter 1120 and essentially kill them off both, but in this case, the true Vegapunk, that is, Stella, will have to somehow survive and be brought back.

One Piece: The Return of Jimbei and Zoro: A New Battle Strategy for the Straw Hats

One Piece chapter 1120 might also focus on the Labophase, where Zoro and Jinbe are currently trying to secure an escape route for Sunny. The crew might finally jump to the sea below, as the ship heads towards the water. This is a crucial moment for them and as Nusjuro won't be easy to shake off. However, right now, they simply have to do that or risk being killed completely. One Piece chapter 1120 is not going to make things exciting and open the way up for an escape.

As always, fans know that Oda usually returns immediately after his break weeks, which means that One Piece should return next Sunday, at its usual time. Fans simply have to get through this week somehow, and then, they can start getting closer to one of the biggest chapters of One Piece in recent times.

One Piece is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus app. The release date for the next chapter of One Piece, One Piece 1120, is set to be July 14, 2024.
