One Piece: Can Zoro Defeat V. Nusjuro?

Nusjuro is one of the strongest One Piece characters. Can Zoro defeat him?

So far, fans are very happy to know that One Piece chapter 1118 will be out later this week, and there are a lot of intriguing plot points that Oda has to tackle here. Of course, the vast majority of the focus is going to be on the Elders and the Iron Giant, and at the same time, the likes of Zoro and Jinbe as well. As the Straw Hat Pirates continue their struggle of trying to make an escape, fans theorize about how the arc will develop from here on.

Updated on June 20, 2024, by Rei Penber: With One Piece chapter 1118 drawing close, fans know they need to keep eyes on Luffy, Zoro, the Iron Giant, and the Elders, on Egghead. Here are all angles that OP 1118 could tackle this week.

The Iron Giant Continues The Fight

The Iron Giant Isn't Done For In The Egghead Island Arc

One Piece chapter 1118 will most likely see the Iron Giant continue the fight once again. In the previous chapter, fans got to witness the Iron Giant being surrounded by four of the Five Elders. This giant was headed towards an unknown location. The fans don't know what exactly it plans to do or what his goal is on Egghead. However, all that did not matter much as it was attacked while walking by Warcury. Using his incredible powers, he blew the Giant away and, with that, Vegapunk's transmission was interrupted as well.

Lastly, I have one message for those scattered throughout the world who beat the name D. Within you, there is a…

With the transmission having been officially interrupted now, it is going to be impossible for fans to know what Vegapunk intended to say to those who have the D in their name. Still, that doesn't mean that the Iron Giant and the plot lines surrounding it are going to be redundant now. Fans still need to keep in mind that the Iron Giant is a creation from the past. It runs on ancient energy and this energy source could be a problem for the Five Elders. Although it was easily pushed back in the previous chapter, it could go ahead and damage the members of the 5 Elders in the next chapter. That is what fans expect from the Iron Giant in One Piece chapter 1118, and one can only hope that it delivers big time.

The premise for the Iron Giant damaging the Five Elders is simple. For one, fans know that ancient energy is somewhat different from regular energy sources in One Piece. This ancient energy can destroy entire islands, which means that, at the very least, it can cause large-scale destruction, and when utilized to power up things such as the Iron Giant, it can possibly allow it to do things that one absolutely cannot do normally. At the same time, fans also need to keep in mind that Saturn was not able to maintain his Yokai form in front of the Mother Flame, which is ancient energy shaped into a different form. There could be a connection between the two and if the Iron Giant truly is powered by ancient energy, then, perhaps fans might actually get to see the giant injuring an Elder.

So far, every attack that has been landed on the members of the Five Elders has been useless. They are strong and there is absolutely no denying that fact. But, their biggest strength is their immortality. No matter what kind of injury they take, they regenerate and it is almost as if they are fazed by absolutely nothing. The Iron Giant could change the equation forever and open up the opportunity for them to be injured later down the line as well. Hopefully, One Piece chapter 1118 will deliver on that end.

Zoro And Jinbe Team Up

Zoro And Jinbe Have To Deal With The Threat Of V. Nusjuro

The Sukhavati Bliss Rashomon zoro vs nusjuro one piece 1118

One Piece chapter 1118 will most likely also see Zoro and Jinbe team up. Fans know that these two decided to enter combat against Nusjuro in the previous chapter. As he made his way across the Labophase, he targeted the Sunny in an attempt to stop the Straw Hat Pirates from escaping.

Moments before Nusjuro cleaved the ship in half, Zoro was thrown by Jinbe using one of his powerful Fishman Karate blows, while the Straw Hat Swordsman was able to attack the Elder with a powerful Rashomon. Of course, this attack was stopped effortlessly by Nusjuro, however, the force behind it was so great that he ended up being pushed back. Of course, Nusjuro will be fine, but Zoro and Jinbe will have to make sure that he is unable to harm the Straw Hat Pirate Ship as they try to escape.

Let me cut to the chase. Our world is going to sink into the ocean!!

As Zoro put in the previous chapter, they will jump on the ship while it gets off the island. This means both good and bad things for One Piece chapter 1118. The good thing is that it is highly likely that Zoro's strategy will work.

Zoro showcases one of his pre-timeskip abilities, Rashomon, but with a new twist in One Piece.

The bad thing is that fans will likely not get an extended combat between Zoro, Jinbe, and Nusjuro. Fans will most likely see more skirmishes here and there in One Piece chapter 1118, however, as soon as Zoro and Jinbe get the opportunity to escape, they will, just as they put it in the previous chapter. No fan should expect all-out combat here, as that is quite useless. Zoro does not have the tools to do any substantial damage to Nusjuro, nor is he strong enough to face him in battle. Even with Jinbe at his side, he's not going to be making a dent, and it will only cause a delay for the Straw Hat Pirates. The best strategy here would be for Zoro to try to defend the ship from Nusjuro while they are trying to escape.

Luffy and The Crew Get Closer To Escaping

Luffy, Dorry, And Brogy Could Get Aboard The Giants' Ship

In One Piece's previous chapter, fans clearly saw Luffy get close to the Giants’ ship. In One Piece 1118, Dorry, Brogy, and Luffy will most definitely make it to the ship and try to escape. Of course, they will still be actively fighting, given that they are surrounded by the Marines, and at the same time, there are plenty of other powerful foes on the island as well. As such, they will most likely be fighting still, and it will be up to them to deal with the Navy. At the same time, they will have to protect the shape of the Giants as well.

Meanwhile, the Straw Hat Pirates on the Labophase will try to get down and escape as well, and this will all require a massive push from everyone. Then, their destination is going to be Elbaf, which is something that fans are incredibly excited about already. It is clear for the fans to see that this arc is now ending, and Elbaf is going to be beginning soon. Taking everything that fans have seen over the course of the last few chapters into consideration, One Piece Chapter 1118 is most definitely going to be one of the last few ones of this arc, before the crew escapes and the arc wraps up.

One Piece is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus app. The release date for the next chapter of One Piece, One Piece 1118, is set to be June 23, 2024.
