One Piece went on break recently due to the author of the series, Eiichiro Oda, needing surgery to correct his astigmatism. The story rarely goes on long breaks, however, this was one that Oda absolutely needed to take in order to preserve his eyesight and, at the same time, get some well-deserved rest as well.
With a few weeks already having passed since One Piece chapter 1086 dropped, fans are already looking forward to One Piece chapter 1087 and are extremely excited for it. There are quite a few things that will take place in the next chapter of One Piece and fans can't wait for Oda's eventual return to Shonen Jump.
One Piece 1087: The Revolutionary Army And The Gorosei
One of the most important aspects that fans will get to see the series tackle upon its return will be related to the Revolutionary Army. The vast majority of the story that has been told over the past few chapters has come through them. Sabo, after reuniting with the Revolutionary Army, told them about the events that happened on the Holy Land of Marijoa during the Reverie. Now, Dragon has declared his war, as was mentioned before. He has laid siege to Marijoa and all the members of the Revolutionary Army are destroying every food cart that is headed to the Holy Land. This also means that the World Government will soon descend from Marijoa and make their move.
Ivankov expects the Holy Knights to make a move and that is what could be focused on in One Piece chapter 1087. Fans were already introduced to Garling Figarland in One Piece 1086 and, perhaps, it is time for him and the other members of the Holy Knights to descend and take on the Revolutionary Army in combat. This will give fans a great opportunity to see the powers of all the members of the Revolutionary Army and, at the same time, give the members of the Holy Knights a chance to demonstrate their skills. By the looks of it, Garling Figarland could be a very powerful man, given that he was declared the champion of God Valley. Fans have high expectations from this character and, perhaps, One Piece 1087 will see the story focus on him a bit more.
The Return Of The Straw Hat Pirates
Of course, there are many other things that fans would want for One Piece 1087 to feature as well. Perhaps, the thing fans are craving the most right now is a look at Straw Hat Pirates. This pirate crew has not appeared in the manga for months despite being the center of the entire story. While fans love the fact that the world of One Piece is so huge that Oda moving to someplace else doesn't really affect their interest, at the same time, fans certainly do miss their beloved Straw Hat Pirates. Currently, the Straw Hat Pirates are on Egghead Island and there, they are trying their best to save Dr. Vegapunk and escape from the island unscathed.
So far, things have not been going great and it appears that they are going to have to face a lot more troubles if they are to make their way out of the island. For now, Vegapunk and the Straw Hat Pirates are relatively safe and have teamed up with the members of the CP0, however, things will quickly go from bad to worse when Kizaru, one of the Navy Admirals, shows up with a fleet of 100 ships. What's even worse is the fact that Kizaru has Saint Jaygarcia Saturn with him and fans already know that this member of the Five Elders is ridiculously powerful. On the 100 battleships, there are likely going to be many strong Vice Admirals and Rear Admirals.
For the Straw Hat Pirates to face and defeat them in combat is going to be a pain. This incident of the war that will erupt on Egghead Island was termed by Oda as the Egghead Incident. It'll be very Interesting to see what One Piece 1087 delivers in regards to this incident which everyone knows is coming.
The Emergence Of The Blackbeard Pirates
Previously, a ship of the Blackbeard Pirates was also seen heading towards Egghead Island recently. Fans do not know who exactly sails on this ship. It certainly can't be Blackbeard as he was with a section of his crew engaging Trafalgar Law on Winner Island. Meanwhile, fans also know that a chunk of his crew is on the Pirate Island of Fullaled. This means only the missing members of the crew are currently sailing towards Egghead Island and that would mean the people aboard the Blackbeard ship are Katarina Devon and Lafitte.
These two characters might make an appearance soon on Egghead Island and play a major role in the story. Fans already know they possess tremendous power and what's more, their Devil Fruits are very tricky as well. Katarina Devon can take the appearance of anyone with her Mythical Zoan powers and Lafitte's powers, although vastly unknown at this point in time, allow him to hypnotize people. The Blackbeard Pirates are surely only going to make things worse for the Straw Hat Pirates and it will be interesting to see how Luffy, the newest addition to Yonko, will deal with them.
Vegapunk's Dilemma
Furthermore, fans good also see great revelations being made about Dr. Vegapunk in One Piece chapter 1087. Vegapunk is at the center of everything right now and the goal of the arc is to save him. For now, he remains a captive and York wants to eliminate all the other Vegapunks one by one in order to become a Celestial Dragon. York certainly cannot succeed in this goal because the Straw Hat Pirates would then fail in their objective. It is time for Nico Robin and her group to get to Dr. Vegapunk and try to save him. If Vegapunk dies, humanity loses all the information that he has collected on Punk Records, which is something that absolutely cannot be allowed to happen.
In essence, it is going to be like a miniature version of the Void Century where all the collected information will be utterly destroyed. Sentomaru previously compared this to the incident that took place on Ohara 22 years ago and he certainly wasn't wrong when he made that comparison. This situation is going to get much worse and fans should brace themselves for it, as the stakes are only going to rise.
The Role Of The Straw Hat Grand Fleet In Egghead Island
Of course, the Straw Hat Pirates could also expect help in the form of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet. While not all the members of the Grand Fleet would possibly make it to Egghead Island, there are certainly some who could. This is especially true since, after the events of Dressrosa, Oda specifically teased the fact that the members of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet will continue to grow stronger until an incident of historic proportions happens. Recently, Oda teased the Egghead Incident once again in a similar manner. Perhaps, Oda was, in fact, speaking of the same day at the end of the Dressrosa arc. If that truly is the case, then it is time for the Grand Fleet to make their move and join the war against the Navy and the World Government.
For now, fans are holding tight and waiting for the return of One Piece. There are still two weeks for the story to finally return and once Oda does make his return, fans expect the events of Egghead Island to take up the vast majority of the chapters. The world of One Piece is more turbulent than ever before and as Oda mentioned previously, the Final Saga of the series is going to see some major incidents take place one after the other. Oda previously compared the Final Saga to a battle royale and that means fans are in for a ride.
