That is precisely why Luffy has taken to utilizing Gear 5 once again, but he hasn't just done so himself. Along with him, Bonney has also tapped into the power of Gear 5, and now, these two characters are going to utilize the full potential of Nika.

Bonney's Nika Transformation Of The Past

Bonney uses her power in One Piece

Fans know Bonney to hold the power of the Toshi Toshi no Mi, which is a Paramecia type of Devil Fruit, the true potential of which wasn't revealed to the fans until recently. Previously, fans believed that Bonney's Devil Fruit gave her the ability to alter the ages of people. This was already a dangerous ability. However, the events of Egghead Island have taken this ability to the next level. In fact, it can be said that this power is quite easily one of the most overpowered ones in the entire series, and that is quite a statement. Bonney possesses tremendous powers and much of that is down to the Distorted Future ability that she has. Quite easily, Distorted Future is the strongest power that Bonney has. Simply put, it allows Bonney to envision any future that she deems possible and make that future a reality.

Beat loudly, heartbeat! That's the sound!! – Luffy

She can do this for herself, or any other individual as well. For instance, in the Egghead Island Arc, Bonney was seen turning into a Buccaneer, and she did this by imagining a Buccaneer-like future for herself. This gave Bonney a similar body to that of her father, Kuma, and granted her tremendous physical strength, and at the same time, the blood of the Giants. In the past, fans also saw that Bonney tap into the power of the Gomu Gomu no Mi. At that point, it was unknown to her that this Devil Fruit even existed. However, through the tales that Kuma told Bonney, she knew that Nika fought with great freedom and had a rubbery body.

Bonney tried her best to envision that and was able to create an attack similar to Gear Third, using which she knocked out Alpha, one of the agents of Cipher Pol, effortlessly. More recently, Bonney took the future of a Giant and essentially turned into a humongous individual when she was fighting against V. Nusjuro. Clearly, whatever future Bonney thinks she can take is one that she can easily attain.

The only downside of Bonney's ability is that she needs to truly believe in whatever she envisions for her future. For instance, if Bonney does not believe that Nika is real, then she cannot take the appearance of Nika or utilize his powers. Similarly, Bonney cannot turn into a Giant if the Giants are not real, and just like that, if the Buccaneers weren't real, Bonney would not be able to manifest the powers of this race either. This might be a big downside, however, in the grand scheme of things, it doesn't matter, because the One Piece world is absolutely vast and there are countless things that the eyes wouldn't believe are true.

Luffy Teaches Bonney To Become Nika

Luffy Taught Bonney To Tap Into Nika’s Power

In One Piece chapter 1118, fans got to see Bonney attain great power and this came about at the very end of the chapter. Essentially, the Five Elders are doing their best to make the escape of the Straw Hat Pirates as difficult as possible. Right now, their goal is to eliminate the remaining Vegapunks, which include Lilith and Pythagoras, and at the same time, make the escape of the Straw Hats incredibly difficult.

This is going to be an achievable task for them, however, if the Straw Hats fight back hard, then it is certainly going to become very difficult.

I don't know how your powers work, but you've got this, Bonney!

Now, it is becoming increasingly clear to the fans that another confrontation is brewing just before the escape. That is precisely why Luffy decided to undergo his Nika transformation once again. Right now, Luffy has turned towards utilizing the power of Gear 5 once again, and this is going to be very intriguing. However, Luffy didn't just transform into Nika himself. At the same time, he also decided to show Bonney how to do this transformation as well, and now, she has transformed into Nika too.

Monkey D. Dragon has a huge role to play in the final saga of One Piece. Luffy's father has a lot to offer.

This is incredibly important for the story, as fans now know that Bonney can access the full power of the Nika Devil Fruit. With white hair, clothes, an incredibly advanced rubbery body, and the ability to do just about anything, Bonney is going to be a force to be reckoned with for anyone who stands in her path. Right now, the Elders are closing in on these Pirates, and as such, it is up to Luffy and Bonney, along with Sanji, to defend against these monstrously powerful individuals and save the day.

How Strong Is Bonney's Nika Form?

Bonney's Nika From Is On An Entirely Different Level

Of course, it goes without saying that Bonney's Nika form is not going to be as strong as that of Luffy. For one, Bonney's base strength isn't as great as that of Luffy, and that is mostly down to the fact that she's just 12. She needs to grow a lot physically in terms of her actual power, and then be enhanced by the Nika transformation. Secondly, and most importantly, Bonney will most likely have a time limit on how long she can utilize the power of Nika. This is likely to grow with age, or as Bonney gets stronger. Fans will most definitely get to see her get better with the usage of this power, and by adulthood, she will surely go on to become one of the strongest individuals in the entirety of the series. That certainly is not all.

Bonney doesn't have access to Haki, as far as fans know. Without this power, Gear 5 is not going to be as strong as it can be. However, even without these abilities, it is absolutely terrifying and can potentially damage a member of the Elders, as such is the power of the Nika fruit.

One Piece Luffy Gear 5

It would be absolutely incredible to see what she can truly pull off using this power and how far she can push this transformation. With Luffy at her side, it is highly likely that she will learn how to master this transformation, and bring about a proper change on the battlefield. At the same time, due to two Nika being there, the drums of Liberation will now be doubled, which means that the Iron Giant will be stronger than ever before. Bonney's transformation into Nika will most likely kick-start the giant once again and push him to fight against the Elders as well. Things are only just getting started and it will be absolutely incredible to see all these powerful individuals unite against the Elders and push them back so that they can escape successfully.
