Boa Hancock is one of the best-written female characters in One Piece. Famed as the Pirate Empress, Boa Hancock is the captain of the Kuja Pirates and hails from the special Kuja tribe. Her strength is such that she has received a bounty of 1.659 billion berries without even being a notorious pirate over the course of the last decade or so.

Hancock is tremendously powerful, however, when it comes to forging good friendships, she isn't all that great. Hancock is wary of who she lets her guard down around because of her traumatic past and she accepts only a handful of people into her life who she can trust with her eyes closed.
6 Jinbe
An Acquaintance Through Luffy
Out of all the friends that Hancock has made, Jinbe is certainly the only one who might pass as an acquaintance, at best. Hancock certainly is thankful for Jinbe's existence, since he has saved Luffy on countless occasions.
She has also let Jinbe eat the food she has cooked. Even though their relationship is hostile at times, Hancock still values Jinbe for all he has done for Luffy and recognizes that he is not a threat or a particularly evil individual. That in itself is a big step for Hancock and goes to show that she does, to some level, accept him as an acquaintance.
5 Kuja Pirate Members
She Leads The Kuja As Her Trusted Underlings
Hancock is the Captain of the Kuja Pirates and she's certainly loved by all her pirate crew members. Hancock believes them to be incredibly trustworthy and she knows that they can defend her with their lives. At the same time, Hancock would be willing to give her own life for them and that is what being a captain is all about.
Even though they are her underlings, Hancock believes them to be her friends and certainly would let her guard down around them, but only to a certain extent.
4 Shakky
A Close Friend And Savior Of The Gorgon Sisters
The former Empress of Amazon Lily, Shakky is a character whom Hancock certainly adores and admires quite a lot. She is a character that Hancock looks up to and recognizes as an ally and a friend. Shakky knows Hancock very well and that in itself implies that these two characters share some sort of a deep bond that fans have not yet seen.

Rayleigh is the only male character other than Luffy that Hancock fully trusts. He is like her father figure and, at the same time, also one of her best friends. Rayleigh was responsible for saving the Gorgon Sisters after they escaped from Marijoa.
It is highly likely that he also ended up training her before they eventually ended up returning to Amazon Lily. Rayleigh and Hancock share a very special relationship and this was highlighted once again after Blackbeard attacked Amazon Lily.
2 Luffy
Hancock's Friend And Love Interest
Luffy is the man that Hancock admires the most. He is the love of her life and she can go to any lengths for him, even risking her own life or her entire country. At the same time, this feeling is reciprocated by Luffy as well. While he does not necessarily love her in a romantic way just yet, Luffy considers Hancock to be one of his very best friends.
He realizes that Hancock has risked her life and her position on many occasions for her and for that, Luffy is indebted to her forever. These two characters share a very amazing relationship that fans can only hope that Oda focuses on even more as the story progresses.
1 Salome
Hancock's Pet And Closest Aide
Undoubtedly, the very best friend that Hancock has is none other than her pet snake, Salome. She is always around Hancock, no matter what. She is very protective of her at all times and, at the same time, Hancock reciprocates this towards her as well. Salome knows when Hancock is at her saddest and gives her comfort.
She also knows when Hancock needs her strength and aids her in combat. Salome has always been there by Hancock's side and will continue to be there for her forever.
