Very few anime and manga series have had the level of success that One Piece has, and that is because it tells a grand and emotional story, and it helps that it features plenty of well-written characters. Most One Piece characters belong to some type of faction, and the Marines are one of the largest factions. They serve as the World Government's military sea force, and they mainly deal with Pirates.

Many pirates are capable of using Haki, but a large number also possess the power of a Devil Fruit. As a result, many high-ranking Marines have Devil Fruit powers of their own, and for the most part, they are all very effective in battle. That being said, certain Marine Devil Fruits are stronger than others.

10 The Rust-Rust Fruit

Shu Using His Rust Powers To destroy A Sword In One Piece

Shu was one of the Marine captains who participated in the Buster Call at Enies Lobby. He fought Zoro during the battle, and with his Devil Fruit, he was able to destroy one of his swords. This was no ordinary sword, however. It was Yubashiri - one of the world's fifty Skillful Grade blades.

Shu ate the Rust-Rust Fruit, a Paramecia which allows him to rust any type of metal by simply touching it. It is true that this is a very situational Devil Fruit, but it gives Shu an advantage over enemy swordsmen.

9 The Cage-Cage Fruit

Rear Admiral Hina Caging Pirates At Marineford In One Piece

When she was introduced, Hina was a Marine Captain, but after the Summit War at Marineford, she was promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral. She leads the Black Cage Corps, which is fitting given her power.

After eating the Cage-Cage Fruit, Hina gained the ability to create iron bars and bindings, which she can use to restrain her targets. As a result, she is known as "Hina the Black Cage." Some consider this to be one of the weakest Devil Fruits in One Piece because the bars take long to form, and because allies can also get trapped, but it is still great for capturing multiple pirates at once.

8 The Dragon-Dragon Fruit, Model: Allosaurus

X-Drake in his Allosaurus hybrid form in One Piece

Most of the world believes that X-Drake is one of the twelve pirates known as The Worst Generation, but he is actually an undercover marine. He is the Captain of SWORD, a Secret Special Force, and like other members, he resigned from the traditional command structure but continues to operate on the Marines' behalf.

He ate the Dragon-Dragon Fruit, Model: Allosaurus, an Ancient Zoan Devil Fruit which allows him to transform into a full Allosaurus or Human-Allosaurus hybrid. All of Drake's physical abilities are greatly enhanced. His tail can be used as a powerful club, and he gains sharp teeth and a powerful jaw that can injure a Pacifista.

7 The Smoke-Smoke Fruit

Smoker Avoiding An Attack With His Logia Powers In One Piece

Smoker was the Marine Captain stationed at Loguetown, but he now commands the G-5 Marine Base in the New World, and he currently holds the rank of Vice Admiral. He and Luffy have been rivals for quite some time, but they have helped each other on several occasions.

With the Smoke-Smoke Fruit, Smoker can create and transform into smoke at will, and like other Logia users, most attacks simply phase through his body. Thanks to this power, Smoker is one of the only characters to beat Luffy in a fight, but this only happened because Luffy did not understand Haki yet.

6 The Wash-Wash Fruit

Vice Admiral Tsuru Hanging Several Pirates Out To Dry In One Piece

There are a handful of legendary figures from Gol D. Roger's era, and Tsuru is one of them. She may be in her late 70s, but Tsuru is still a very powerful Marine Vice Admiral, and she spent a good portion of time pursuing Doflamingo before he became a Warlord.

She ate the Wash-Wash Fruit, a Paramecia which allows her to treat people and other objects like they are flat clothes. When she uses this power on her opponents, they are disabled and left unable to move, and it can even "clean" some of the evil off of pirates.

5 The Woods-Woods Fruit

Admiral Ryokugyu Using His Devil Fruit In One Piece Manga

Ryokugyu will appear at the end of the Wano Arc, and like other Marine Admirals, he has a powerful Devil Fruit. He ate the Woods-Woods Fruit, a Logia which allows him to create, manipulate, and transform into various types of plant life.

Since plants are a solid element, Ryokugyu cannot become intangible, but non-Haki attacks still cannot harm him, and if he does get injured, he can quickly regenerate. He can launch large-scale attacks that can impale dozens of enemies at once, and his plants can rapidly absorb liquid from living creatures, leaving them shriveled and unable to move.

4 The Press-Press Fruit

Fujitora Manipulating Gravity On Dressrosa In One Piece

Fujitora became an Admiral after the Summit War, and he spearheaded the campaign to abolish the Warlord system. Fujitora may be blind, but he is a very skilled Haki user, and he is one of the strongest swordsmen in the series, and his Devil Fruit can cause immense damage.

Thanks to the Press-Press Fruit, he can manipulate gravitational forces. He usually channels this ability through his sword, and its range of effect can span entire islands. He can drastically increase the gravity around his targets, thus forcing them down and making it very difficult for them to move. He can repel attacks, levitate nonliving objects, and even call down meteors.

3 The Magma-Magma Fruit

One Piece Magu Magu no Mi Akainu Logia Devil Fruit Magma

Akainu was an Admiral during the Summit War, and he is the man who killed Ace. He is now the Fleet Admiral, and he received the promotion after defeating Aokiji in what turned out to be a long and monumental battle.

He is without a doubt one of the most dangerous characters alive, and much of that danger stems from his Magma-Magma Fruit. As its name suggests, this Logia allows him to create and transform into magma. His magma can burn, melt, or destroy virtually anything, including fire. He can lay waste to an entire battlefield by firing meteor-like projectiles into the air.

2 The Glint-Glint Fruit

Kizaru Creating Light With The Glint-Glint Fruit In One Piece

Kizaru appeared during the Sabaody Archipelago Arc, where he decimated most of the Worst Generation and several of the Straw Hats. He accomplished this because of the Glint-Glint Fruit, a Logia which allows him to create, manipulate, and transform into light.

Other than intangibility, this fruit allows Kizaru to move at the speed of light, which means that he is extremely difficult to hit. He can fire beams of light that can pierce through just about anything and produce large explosions, and his physical attacks cause explosions as well.

1 The Human-Human Fruit, Model: Buddha

Sengoku Fighting In His Buddha Form In One Piece

Sengoku is a legend from Roger's era, and he went on to become the Fleet Admiral of the Marines. He decided to retire after the Summit War, but he still serves the Marines as Inspector General, where he investigates any type of Marine corruption or mismanagement.

Sengoku ate the Human-Human Fruit, Model: Buddha, a Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit which lets him transform into a giant golden Buddha. While in this form, all of his physical attributes are enhanced. His punches are extremely powerful, and he can create golden shockwaves that were strong enough to send several members of the Blackbeard Pirates flying.
