The Straw Hat Pirates hail from the East Blue, known to be the weakest of the four oceans outside of the Grand Line. The crew is led by the main character of One Piece, Monkey D. Luffy, and have made quite a great name for themselves. Currently, this crew is worth billions and their captain is one of the Four Emperors of the Sea.

Luffy is also among the characters closest to the One Piece right now. While Luffy certainly deserves all the plaudits that he gets, much of it is down to the friends that he made along the way. On his journey, Luffy has met countless people and some of them have even sailed with him on the Going Merry and the Thousand Sunny.

6 Koby

Koby is a character who fans were introduced to before any other Straw Hat in the story. He made his debut very early into the series when he was revealed to be a chore boy on Alvida's ship. Koby, while fishing one day, found his way onto her ship, becoming her slave thereafter. It was Luffy who ended up freeing Koby after defeating Alvida.

While Luffy did not have a big ship at the moment, Koby sailed with him to Shell's Town, where the two met the famous Pirate Hunter, Roronoa Zoro. Koby sailed with Luffy for only a short bit, however, this period of time was certainly interesting and, eventually, he joined the Marines, where he was trained by the legendary hero, Garp.

5 Trafalgar Law

One of the leaders of the new generation, Trafalgar Law is a ferocious pirate who hails from the North Blue and captains the Heart Pirates. Law is a member of the Worst Generation, just like Luffy. He has made a great name for himself in the New World and was even given the position of Shichibukai during the timeskip. After the timeskip, Law was working on Punk Hazard when Luffy appeared on the island.

From there onwards, he began his plan to take down Doflamingo. He sailed with Luffy from Punk Hazard, all the way to Dressrosa, then Zou, and eventually, Wano. After the events of Wano wrapped up, Law went his own way and encountered the Emperor of the sea, Blackbeard on his path.

4 Kin'emon

Kin'emon is a proud samurai of the land of Wano and he was introduced to the fans during the Punk Hazard arc. It was he who led the Straw Hat Pirates to the island of Punk Hazard when he started cutting down people indiscriminately in search of his son. Upon hearing the distress call, the Straw Hat Pirates came to Punk Hazard, and later on, met the samurai named Kin'emon.

Later on, the crew joined hands with him on the quest to vanquish the Emperor of the Sea, Kaido, and the Shogun of Wano, Orochi, who had been terrorizing his land. Kin'emon sailed with the crew from Punk Hazard to Dressrosa and then to the phantom island of Zou. From there onwards, he headed off to Wano with half of the crew, and, there, the pirate alliance ended up fighting against Kaido and Orochi to liberate the land once and for all.

3 Momonosuke

Momonosuke was also introduced in One Piece in the same arc as Kin'emon, That is, the Punk Hazard arc. He was trust introduced as the son of Kin'emon, however, it was later revealed that he was actually the son of the famous daimyo of Wano, Kozuki Oden. Momonosuke was the heir to the position of Shogun of Wano and was being chased by Kaido and his men.

He went on a mission to acquire strong allies to take back his land and that is how he ran into Luffy. Momo sailed with the crew from Punk Hazard all the way to Wano, just like his caretaker, Kin'emon. Towards the end of the Wani arc, he was made the Shogun of the place and from there onwards, he decided to rule.

2 Carrot

Carrot is a rabbit Mink and a member of the famous Mink Tribe from Zou, a country that is located on the back of a giant elephant named Zunesha. Carrot was introduced in the series during the Zou arc and she quickly bonded with the crew. Once Luffy and the crew set out to Whole Cake Island in an attempt to retrieve Sanji and steal the Poneglyphs of Big Mom, Carrot snuck into the ship and went with them to this island.

In Whole Cake Island, she proved to be valuable and aided the crew in the battle against Big Mom and her fleet. She also helped rescue Sanji and, eventually, Carrot sailed with the group all the way to Wano. After the war of Wano was done, Carrot was elected as the ruler of the Mokomo Dukedom and she has been doing her job as its ruler since then.

1 Vivi

Vivi was introduced to the fans during the Whiskey Peak arc where she was revealed to be Miss Wednesday, one of the agents of the crime syndicate, Baroque Works, headed by Crocodile. It was revealed later on that Vivi was actually undercover in this organization and that she was actually the Princess of the Kingdom of Alabasta.

After her secret was revealed on Whiskey Peak, Vivi was taken in by the Straw Hats and, together, they sailed all the way to Alabasta. Vivi even considered herself a part of the crew for quite a while. Even today, she is considered to be an honorary member of the Straw Hat Pirates. One day, she will return to the crew and sail with them on the seas once again.
