Ben Beckman is the First Mate of the Red Hair Pirates and one of the most influential characters in One Piece. Introduced at the very beginning of the series with Shanks, Ben Beckman has always been as much a mystery as his captain. Currently, he is one of the most powerful men in the One Piece world, as expected of the First Mate of a Yonko crew.

Since Ben Beckman holds such a high position, it is no surprise that he is a user of Haki as well, especially, since the Red Hair Pirates don't seem to possess any Devil Fruit powers. For Ben Beckman to be so strong, his Haki must be excellent, however, fans have not gotten to see it yet. While One PieceFilm: Red certainly did give fans a bit of an insight into his powers, his Conqueror's Haki was only recently teased in the TV anime.

Ben Beckman's Haki Types

The two main types of Haki in the One Piece world are the Color of Armament and the Color of Observation. Nearly every proficient user of Haki can use these two types and for someone as formidable as Ben Beckman, it is no surprise to possess both the Color of Armament and the Color of Observation. According to the 4 Billion volume, which was a supplementary guide to One Piece Film: Red, it was revealed that Beckman's Haki is quite powerful. He can coat his gun and his bullets with them and pierce even the thickest of armor.

While his Color of Observation skills have not yet been revealed, it is expected that his proficiency with it will be high as well. Ben Beckman's Haki was teased to be greater than that of the Marine Admirals recently and that just goes to show how big a threat he is in the One Piece world. For him to hold such power means that he could very well be a user of the third and rare type of Haki called the Color of the Supreme King Haki, or Conqueror's Haki. Unlike the other two Haki types, this third type is found only within one in a million people. At the same time, it is also the strongest of all Haki types.

Being a masterful user of the two basic Haki types certainly opens up the possibility for Ben Beckman to wield Conqueror's Haki. While he isn't the captain of his crew, it's not impossible for a crew to have more than one user of this ability. Recently, the TV anime teased Beckman possessing this power, and, needless to say, it has piqued the fans' interest in his potential powers. To promote Film Red, the One Piece TV anime released two episodes that built up the movie. In one of the episodes, Luffy was confronted by two bandits and it was Beckman who ended up rescuing him.

Interestingly enough, Beckman didn't use any of his brute force to take care of the bandits. Instead, he used his intimidation to scare them away. Fans know that intimidation is a big part of Conqueror's Haki and for him to intimidate them certainly opens up a door for him to actually wield this skill. This was also done with Roronoa Zoro during the Sabaody Archipelago where, when he was confronted by bounty hunters, he managed to intimidate them. Later on in the story, he was revealed to be a wielder of the Color of the Supreme King as well.

Right-Hand Men With Conqueror's Haki

Ben Beckman having Conqueror's Haki is certainly not something outlandish. After all, several other right-hand men have wielded this ability in the past. Silvers Rayleigh, the Vice Captain of the Roger Pirates, also known as the Dark King, is also a user of this power. His role in the Roger Pirates was exactly the same as the role Beckman serves in the Red Hair Pirates. It is precisely this skill that made him one of the most feared Pirates in the One Piece world. Garp, the Hero of the Marines, went as far as to compare his pedigree to the likes of Whitebeard, which is a sign of how truly dangerous he is even in his old age. At the same time, Zoro of the Straw Hat Pirates also wields the Color of the Supreme King, as seen in the Wano Country arc.

With this power, he was able to scar Kaido and become the only second man in history to ever accomplish this feat. Later on, Zoro gained control over this power and used it to defeat King, Kaido's strongest right-hand man, in battle. Furthermore, Beckman's portrayal is quite similar to Zoro's as well. Oda has already revealed that Beckman is the rock of the Red Hair Pirates, who are all a goofy and lively bunch. This is very similar to the role that Zoro has on the Straw Hat crew. The chances for Beckman to wield Conqueror's Haki are certainly very high. With One Piece's last saga focusing more on the Red Hair Pirates, fans could get to see him use this ability very soon.
