One Piece 1059 was released earlier today and, it goes without saying that this chapter was quite possibly one of the best ones in the story in quite a while. As expected, the story continues to deliver information on the outside world now that the Straw Hat Pirates have left Wano Country. For four years, fans got to see very little of the outside world due to Wano being isolated from the rest of the world. Slowly, Oda has now been revealing how the tides have shifted since the Reverie.

Previously, fans got to hear about the Revolutionary Army and the Flame Emperor Sabo and in this chapter, a closer look was provided at Amazon Lily, the homeplace of the Pirate Empress Boa Hancock. As fans know, the Navy were seen outside the country in One Piece 956 and chapter 1059 showed the fans exactly what transpired on the island.

Shanks And Marco

Marco and Shanks One Piece 1059

One Piece 1059 began with Shanks and Marco talking aboard the Red Force, the flagship of the Red Hair Pirates. Fans were expecting Marco to show up towards the end of Wano, however, since the arc ended, for him to appear now was certainly an unexpected surprise. Marco was, once again, offered the chance to join the Red Hair Pirates, however, he declined, once again. Setting out towards Sphinx Island, the place that he is protecting, Marco was seen having a flashback of his last days in Wano. The beginning of the flashback saw Yamato talk to Luffy about staying in Wano.

Previously, it was revealed that Yamato would first want to visit every region of Wano and then set out to the sea. However, One Piece 1059 revealed that this was simply an excuse that Yamato came up with. The real reason for him to stay behind in Wano Country is simply that he wants to help protect the country. The attack of Green Bull made him realize that he had to stay in Wano to protect it from similar forces. Marco's part in the chapter, meanwhile, was quite emotional as it called back to the time when he saved Luffy in the Paramount War. Fans were waiting for them to have an exchange and this chapter finally delivered. Sadly, the exchange didn't last for long as Marco immediately headed off to Shanks' ship and sailed his way home.

The Incident On Amazon Lily

One Piece 1059 Hancock Vs Blackbeard

The incident on Amazon Lily was quite possibly the biggest in One Piece 1059. After three years, fans finally got to see what went down on the island. The Navy invaded Amazon Lily, as expected, however, they found it quite hard to deal with the Kuja Pirates, all of which are incredibly powerful uses of Haki. The only reason they were able to advance was because of the women's inability to hurt the children-like Pacifistas, called the Seraphim. These Seraphim appear to be clones of the Shichibukai with Lunarian DNA, making them incredibly powerful. Fans saw a Hancock Seraphim blowing away big parts of the island. Meanwhile, a Mihawk Seraphim cut half of the giant mountain in Amazon Lily with ease.

While the threat of Marines could be countered by the Kuja, it was Blackbeard who arrived at the island and caused great problems for the tribe. Taking Hancock off guard, he made it known that he had wanted her powers for quite a long time. Thanks to the intervention of Silvers Rayleigh, none of the lives were lost and everyone got off the island without any more escalation. For now, the Kuja are safe. However, the island of Amazon Lily is in danger as long as Hancock remains there.

The Case Of Captain Koby

One Piece 1059 Koby Kidnapped

Koby was one of the main characters involved in this major incident. He led the attack on Amazon Lily and was clearly failing to do his job properly. Kobe would potentially have died had Blackbeard not arrived at the island and done him a favor. With Hancock captured by Blackbeard initially, it was revealed that Koby helped the Yonko during the Rocky Port Incident, where he earned the title of the "Hero of the Rocky Port." After the arrival of Raleigh, it was believed that Koby also got off the island, however, towards the end of the chapter, it was revealed that Captain Koby was actually captured by Yonko Blackbeard for some reason.

What Blackbeard plans to do with him remains to be unknown. There isn't much that Koby offers to the Yonko so this is a rather strange decision on his part. This does, however, open up a path for a war with the Blackbeard Pirates, with a potential rescue arc on the way. Perhaps, One Piece 1060 will explore this further and give fans more information on what Blackbeard has planned for the young Marine.
