In collaboration with China Merchants Bank, Genshin Impact developer HoYoverse released brand-new art depicting the popular Cryo character Ganyu. HoYoverse worked with a number of companies in the past two years for Genshin Impact collaborations including KFC, Pizza Hut, and Visa.

Genshin Impact's new Ganyu art was revealed on Chinese social and streaming platforms Weibo and Bilibili, and the new art is featured on new Visa credit cards by China Merchants Bank. Although the promotion is limited to China, the official art was made available around the world thanks to Genshin Impact's diligent Reddit community. Additionally, a new Genshin Impact ad featuring the Ganyu credit card was released across the aforementioned Chinese platforms.

The official art depicts Ganyu wearing a modern work outfit with glasses and a purse to promote business with China Merchants Bank. The work outfit is blue, white, and black to reference Ganyu's appearance in Genshin Impact. Liyue Harbor may be seen in the background, but emphasis is placed on Ganyu as the star of the promotional art. Furthermore, the Visa credit card features a light blue Cryo background to replace the Liyue Harbor background found within the official art released by HoYoverse.

Genshin Impact Ganyu

China Merchants Bank's Ganyu promotion coincides with her reappearance in Genshin Impact version 3.0. The "Adrift in the Harbor" event wish is active until September 28, giving players another opportunity to summon Ganyu to their party before Genshin Impact version 3.1 arrives. Summon rates for Ganyu are also higher, which means 10 consecutive summons may result in a 5-star draw. The event wish also features Dori, one of the new Sumeru characters added in Genshin Impact version 3.0.

Ganyu's promotional artwork is a fascinating rendition and may serve well as in-game costume for the Cryo character. The Visa promotion by China Merchants Bank is unlikely to reach western markets, but the artwork could be repurposed for new events. For instance, the KFC promotion was exclusive to China, but the promotional recipes and wind glider still came to all versions of Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact's growing popularity means more collaborations are likely on the way. In fact, HoYoverse is teaming up with Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba production studio ufotable for a new Genshin Impact anime. Genshin Impact versions 3.1 and beyond may bring exciting new possibilities for the game.

Genshin Impact is available now for Android, iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. A Nintendo Switch version is in development.
