The Oculus Quest 2 is the latest and greatest in Virtual Reality technology and after just a few short months already has a game library that gives all other VR headsets a run for their money. From fighting to painting, from outer space to the underground, reality no longer has the same limitations it has been confined to throughout time.

With so many incredible titles, especially for those enjoying their first VR experiences, it can be overwhelming in the best kind of way. But over the last few months, certain titles have stood out among all as the foundation of what makes the Oculus Quest 2 so great.

10 The Climb

Hands are climbing a mountain face toward a rock climbing clip in, tropical scenery

For some extraordinary individuals, climbing Mount Everest isn't out of reach—they have the funds, time, and most importantly, the upper body strength. But for the majority of the world, this dream may be just outside the realm of possibility; but no more.

The Climb offers a unique experience of (almost) everything that comes with rock climbing: breathtaking scenery, strategy, and lots and lots of chalk. The main complaint with this game is that it can lead to a little bit of motion sickness for some, as the players' legs don't move in real life, but the screen is constantly moving and sliding in front of the players eyes. But for those that can push past this, the unbeatable feeling of victory awaits at its peak.

9 Rec Room

An animated bearded charecter holds pizza with animated friends behind and falling confetti

Rec Room is a free-to-play social gaming platform where players can spend time with their real-life friends or strangers doing literally whatever they want to do. Players can create new games, play paintball or charades, or even have a pizza party.

Rec Room has millions of rooms to explore and experience, with more being created every single day. Some rooms are designed to sit and meditate in, while others can provide a stunt-man style rush as the player races the clock. Making new friends and spending time with current ones has never been more accessible and entertaining. No matter what the player seeks to find, there is something for every type of gamer in Rec Room.

8 Pistol Whip

Shots are being fired in a white atmosphere with a massive mannequin looking person in the background

Pistol Whip is described as an action-rhythm first-person shooter inspired by movies John Wick and Equilibrium. This game feels downright apocalyptic and has mastered the thrill of the on-rail shooter. Gamers work through carefully crafted scenes ranging from android uprising to bank heist, all to killer EDM-style music and artwork by comic book artist Fico Ossio.

This over-the-top experience has won many awards for its fun gameplay and creative design that has maintained a strong player base since its release. This is, however, another game with motion sickness complaints due to its on-rail gameplay but certainly not as prevalent as in other games of this style.

7 Creed: Rise To Glory

A boxer is punched in the face and his apparition leaves behind his body

For most people, taking a trip to Philadelphia to run up the steps of the Museum of Art just and pump their fists in the air at the top is the closest they will ever get to being like Rocky—Until Creed: Rise To Glory. For every kid who grew up watching, and feeling inspired by, the Rocky franchise, this game was crafted for them. From highs to lows, this story-driven boxing game will always bring more than meets the eye.

Creed is one of the best boxing games and not only allows gamers to fight some of the most iconic characters from the Rocky movies but also lets the player fight friends or strangers online PvP. Finally, gamers can step into the ring and see if they have what it takes to be a champion.

6 The Walking Dead: Saints And Sinners

Finally the thrill of living out The Walking Dead scenario without the scary, sometimes sticky, threats. The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners is everything one would expect (and hope for) from a TWD experience. There's shooting, running, hard decisions to be made, and more running.

While not a multiplayer game, the player will still encounter individual survivors, factions, and challenging scenarios that require the player to decide what kind of a person they're going to be in this post-apocalyptic world: a saint, or a sinner. The decisions will shape their gameplay and determine if they are going to survive the new future that is before them.

5 Eleven Table Tennis

A paddle hits a pingpong ball in a loft

No one ever expected a table tennis game could be this fun, but when it comes to a truly enjoyable VR experience, this game is NOT to be left off. The devs set out to make the most realistic table tennis game known to man and they have arguably achieved that goal. The experience is so real that many players have reported nearly dropping their controllers because they tried to set their paddle down on the table when they were done!

Whether playing with friends, online strangers, or their advanced A.I., gamers everywhere have broken out in a surprising sweat trying to gain their competitive edge against their foes.

4 Vader Immortal

Blue and red lightsabers clash with Darth Vader opposite the camera view

The first place most people's minds go when they put on a VR headset is how amazing it would be to finally wield a lightsaber and live out their Star Wars dreams. So naturally, the call was answered, and it is truly as incredible as fans hoped it would be. There are certain sequences that can flare up the motion sickness, but there are pre-configured settings that can all be turned on with one button to fix those more prone to this.

This game is surreal from start to finish and can be quite intimidating at times (they've even found a way to make Stormtroopers scary) but from the first moment the lightsaber is picked up, the courage comes flooding in. For those that still find it to be too much, there is a lightsaber dojo that can still be enjoyed independently of the story.

3 Job Simulator

Hands are holding a coffee mug near doughnuts in a simulated office with a computer with a face in the background

Job Simulator is an arcade-type sandbox that players can slip several meditative hours into before they've realized it. This game is great for first-timers, kids, and honestly, anyone who has ever wanted to throw coffee in their boss's face. In this world, the player is visiting a museum where they can try out "human jobs" as they happened "back in the day" before the computers took them over.

The art within the game is charming and the dialogue makes the player smile while they toil away as a mechanic, office worker, store clerk, or chef. Job Bot is, of course, always nearby to give the player vague instruction and an available face to throw things at, should the need arise.

2 Superhot

Ninja stars are thrown at red nondescript people coming toward the camera with weapons

This may be the most covered game in all of VR and many gamers are familiar with the distinct visuals even if they aren't aware of the name of the game. No other game on VR makes gamers feel quite as hardcore, smooth, secret agent-y as this. With an array of weapons ranging from coffee cups to automatic weapons, gamers can finally live out all of those fast-paced action movie scenes, in manageable slow-mo.

Time only moves when the player does, and the nondescript enemies living within the virtual world (within the already virtual world) shatter before the player. The game is challenging in a very addictive and fun way that only makes the player want to keep pushing on to reach the pyramid at the end.

1 Beat Saber

A red block is sliced in half with an oncoming wall obstacle in a neon environment

A game that needs no introduction, Beat Saber is a rhythm game that brought a large bulk of the VR audience out to play. Since its release, there have been many other rhythm-based games, but none that have landed quite as well with audiences as Beat Saber.

Its highly addictive gameplay keeps the jams coming while the player slices away the oncoming blocks in a neon-techno space that feels almost in-between dimensions. If absolutely nothing else, the game's constantly incredibly high ratings on all platforms should be enough of a claim for anyone to at least give the free demo a try.
