Baldur's Gate 3 players that are playing on PC with a Nvidia graphics card can now download a new Game Ready Driver that will enhance the performance of Larian Studios' hit title. Not only will Baldur's Gate 3 gain major benefits from this latest GeForce driver, but two other games, Gord and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, will receive a new feature on supported RTX graphics cards.

Every few weeks, Nvidia releases driver updates to optimize and improve performance across a wide variety of games, including support for new titles at the time of release, or shortly after. The new Game Ready Drivers came just three weeks after the previous drivers from Nvidia added support for the RTX 4060Ti 16GB, for Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, and Portal: Prelude RTX, a remaster of a Portal community mod that features support for ray-tracing. While some Nvidia graphics cards will not be able to take advantage of features such as deep learning super sampling (DLSS) to upscale some games, users that have compatible GPUs will be able to select new options during their next play session of Baldur's Gate 3.

The latest driver for Nvidia graphics cards is version 536.99, and users will need 675.66 MB of free space to download and install it. Users will require a GeForce 700 series card or later. Once installed, Baldur's Gate 3 players that play at high resolutions will see an increase in performance. According to Nvidia, players that utilize an RTX 40 series card such as the much-maligned 4060Ti 16GB will see an increase of over 40 FPS with DLSS 2 turned on in performance mode while Baldur's Gate 3 runs in 4K at Max settings. Though Baldur's Gate 3 does not support DLSS 3 at the time of writing, cards such as the RTX 30 series and up can utilize DLSS 2 to varying degrees in Baldur's Gate 3 as well as The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Gord in the latest driver update. Some driver fixes for Control, Battlefield 2042, and Dead Space were also included in version 536.99.
