November is traditionally one of the busiest months when it comes to new video game releases, and November 2021 is going to be no exception to that rule. There are multiple high profile, brand new games set to launch in November, like Call of Duty: Vanguard and Forza Horizon 5, for instance. But while there are brand new release for fans to look forward to in November, there are also some remasters and re-releases of classic games coming as well.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl is bringing the DS-era Pokemon games to the Switch on November 19, and the Wii version of A Boy and His Blob is coming on November 4. However, there's one day in November in particular that's going to be busy for older gaming experiences, and that day is November 11.

Thursday, November 11 is perhaps the most-stacked day of the entire year when it comes to game releases aimed at nostalgic gamers. Here's why nostalgic gamers have a ton to look forward to once November 11 rolls around.

November 11 Game Releases

  • Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
  • The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim - Anniversary Edition

The reason why November 11 is going to be such a big day for nostalgic gamers is because it will see the re-release of multiple 2000s era video games. This includes an entire collection of Grand Theft Auto games and a modern re-release of the classic Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.

November 11 will also see another release of Bethesda's critically-acclaimed open world RPG The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, with the new Anniversary Edition set to be the most content-rich version of the game to date. Needless to say, November 11 is going to be an especially busy day for the video game industry, and those who are looking for some nostalgic gaming experiences won't have far to look.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition

The PlayStation 2-era Grand Theft Auto games are widely considered to be some of the best and most influential video games ever made. And now, to coincide with the 20th anniversary of Grand Theft Auto 3, Rockstar Games is bringing those games to modern platforms. Instead of simply porting the PS2-era Grand Theft Auto games, though, Rockstar has gone all out, remastering the games to better meet today's standards.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition will launch for PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch on November 11, collecting Grand Theft Auto 3, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas in a single package. The GTA Trilogy features new graphics and a new Grand Theft Auto 5-inspired control scheme among a number of other improvements and changes.

While Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition will be sold together, there will be options to play the games separately as well. For example, Xbox Game Pass is getting Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas the day it comes out, while those on PlayStation Now will be able to play the definitive version of Grand Theft Auto 3 in December.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

KOTOR switch

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is getting a remake, but in the meantime, those on Nintendo Switch will be able to revisit the classic. It was confirmed at a recent Nintendo Direct presentation that the original Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic was coming to the Switch, and that will happen on November 11. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic on the Switch will give Star Wars fans the chance to play the classic game on the go, and it could very well be enough to tide them over until the remake is ready to be shown to the public.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim - Anniversary Edition

Bethesda has been mocked for constantly re-releasing Skyrim, but there's a reason why it keeps doing so: people keep buying it. And it's safe to say that there will be many that purchase Skyrim yet again when the Anniversary Edition drops on November 11.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim - Anniversary Edition includes next-generation upgrades for the game, bringing the classic RPG to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Not only that, but it will have some Creation Community content baked into the experience, so players can check out the Survival Mode as well as the brand new Fishing mechanic.

The Skyrim Fishing mechanic seems like it's going to be one of the more significant additions in the Anniversary Edition of the game, with some new Fishing-related quests. Bethesda has even teased that Skyrim - Anniversary Edition will have a sea monster of some kind tied to the questline, so it will definitely be interesting to see what happens.
