A No Man’s Sky player discovered a different use for their Personal Forcefield, as they realized using this tool attracts other characters and allows the player to move them around. This feature is among the many little secrets discovered by the No Man’s Sky community as they travel around the galaxy and proves that Hello Games’ survival adventure isn’t about to stop surprising its players.

After a disastrous launch in 2016 plagued with bugs and missing features, No Man’s Sky has managed to redeem itself through various updates, with many now regarding it as one of the best survival games of all time. Players are free to explore the galaxy and do anything they want, from interacting with alien species to fighting against other players, building a base on a foreign planet, customizing their ship, taking part in intense space battles, or discovering the story of No Man’s Sky. Among the many tools players can use during their adventure is the Personal Forcefield, a technology that deploys a shield to protect players against attacks coming from the front.

A No Man’s Sky player known as Neutrovertido on Reddit shared a video of their latest discovery, as they realized using their Personal Forcefield could move other players around. Activating the Personal Forcefield near another player and moving backward pulls the character if it is idle, allowing the Personal Forcefield’s user to drag it around. In the video, Neutrovertido simply moves a character from one place to another, but this feature could be used to lead other players to their death by moving them toward the edge of a platform, giving No Man’s Sky players new ways to kill their friends.

In the comments to this Reddit post, most players were surprised to learn about this unexpected effect of the Personal Forcefield. While most of the No Man’s Sky community already knew they could slowly push other players around, being able to pull them allows for more ways to interact with their friends, either to help them or try to kill them. Some players were more peaceful and thought this feature was a great way to move players staying idle in front of No Man’s Sky NPC to make more room for others.

No Man’s Sky players regularly share their in-game discoveries on social media, from amazing ship buildings to funny bugs they encounter during their journey across the galaxy. Creative players even bring real-life references to the survival game, with a player recently building a Domino’s Pizza location in No Man’s Sky.

No Man's Sky is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
