A No Man's Sky player comes across a strange bug causing several of their exploratory exocraft vehicles to become squished down to the point of appearing almost completely flat, for some reason. No Man's Sky has never been a game free of bugs, though Hello Games has done well in including many fixes for these glitches as part of the regular supply of content updates.

Exocraft themselves have been around in No Man's Sky since one of its earliest updates, the Pathfinder update, and allow players to construct, customize, and upgrade several different vehicles which accommodate rapid traversal of planetary terrains. Many new exocraft have been added over the years, including the Minotaur mech and Nautilon submarine. Each exocraft has its own strengths and weaknesses, offering different cargo capacities and optimal methods of taking on different environments and challenges. While the Nautilon allows for easy underwater exploration, vehicles such as the Pilgrim bike exocraft make for an excellent land scouting craft, and the Minotaur mech might be better suited for combat missions.

One player named HizenD_ on Reddit made a post in the No Man's Sky community which put the spotlight on a hilarious bug they'd come across in the game. An attached screenshot reveals the player standing next to the Colossus and Nomad exocrafts, both vehicles appearing to be squished and flattened. Many other fans who found the post amusing joked that the player must have found themselves on a planet of particularly intense gravity. The cause of this odd glitch is unknown, but the player went on to claim that they could even pilot the vehicles while they were flattened.

Despite the exocraft being clearly affected by this bug, it should be noted that the player's starships fortunately remain 3-dimensional. Although similar to exocraft in some manners of appearance and function, starships are different in their upgrade capabilities and mechanics. Although ships allow players to traverse space and hop between star systems in No Man's Sky, some players also argue that it's easier to simply use a starship to travel quickly between points on the surface of a planet, potentially making them more effective than exocraft.

The procedurally-generated open universe of No Man's Sky has received several rich updates this year already, with the developer recently re-running some of the game's past expeditions for all players to enjoy. While the developer is reportedly busy with an ambitious new game, it has also confirmed that their work with No Man's Sky is far from over, leaving players to wonder when they can expect the next big update.

No Man's Sky is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
