Fans of No Man's Sky who missed out on some of the game's earliest expedition events are in luck, as a new update for the game makes one of its most fan-favorite starships available once again as a limited-time reward for completing one of the expeditions that will be re-run over the holiday season. It's become tradition for the No Man's Sky developers to give fans another chance to complete these time-sensitive events at this time of year, but this is the first time the team at Hello Games have re-run an expedition from a previous year.

No Man's Sky's expeditions have always been something of a hit-or-miss feature among fans, but they've proven to be an effective method of rejuvenating the game's community regardless. Often accompanied by Twitch drop campaigns, new expeditions for No Man's Sky tend to launch every few months, with these limited-time events usually focusing on bringing players together to complete all kinds of different objectives and uncover new stories within the world of No Man's Sky. The formula for these expeditions may be quite familiar to fans at this point, but at least every new expedition brings along a sizable variety of new rewards for players to earn.

Completing expeditions can get players some sweet new ships, multi-tools, and decorations which become permanently tied to their accounts, ready to claim in any save file. The developers of No Man's Sky announced on the game's website that they'll be re-running various expeditions from 2023 as well as the Cartographers expedition from 2021, giving players the chance to earn the rewards they may have missed from any of these expeditions, including the beloved Golden Vector starship. The re-runs are currently live and will go on until January 8, with the Utopia expedition currently playable until December 15. The Singularity expedition will run between December 15 and December 22, Cartographers will run between December 22 and 29, and Voyagers will run from December 29 to January 8.

Fans of No Man's Sky have long been calling for re-runs of the game's older expeditions so that players new to the game might be able to claim some of the rewards that have long since been unavailable. The re-run of the Cartographers update is a step in the right direction and a massive win for fresh-faced players who want to get their hands on the fabled Golden Vector, but players continue to hold out hope that some of the game's other past expeditions might become available again in the future too.

Though the team at Hello Games recently revealed their new game, Light No Fire, it seems that support for No Man's Sky isn't set to end any time soon. A short trailer shown at The Game Awards teases a new major update for the game and an overhaul to space stations, and it's likely that No Man's Sky will see even more new expeditions in 2024.
