It's no secret that The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild is a huge game filled with tons for players to experience and explore. While many of the most notable quests in the game involve the various trials and shrines scattered across Hyrule as well as the four Divine Beasts, there are other notable sidequests in the game.

One such sidequest allows players to obtain a special Giant Horse that towers over all of the other available mounts within the game. Toting black and orange palette, this horse is said to be a direct descendant of the one that had once been ridden by the legendary king of thieves, Ganondorf.

What Makes The Giant Horse So Special?

While many of the horses in Breath of The Wild are randomly generated, the Giant Horse has predetermined stats and always comes with five-star strength, two-star speed, and no stamina.

Although this massive horse isn't the fastest mount in Hyrule, especially as it's incapable of increasing its speed or sprinting, its large frame and high strength allow it to automatically trample anything in its path. How can Link get it?

Where Is It?

The Giant Horse can be found within the Taobab Grassland, just south of Mount Hylia and the Owa Daim shrine atop of the Great Plateau. Viewable from afar, the Giant Horse is hard to miss, dwarfing all of the other animals it can be seen grazing within the Grasslands with.

There are many sizable trees in the area surrounding the horse. These large trees and the surrounding mountains and cliffs can be used to glide directly on top of the horse, allowing Link to mount it without scaring it off. Alternatively, a player can utilize food or equipment that raises Link's stealth in order to sneak up on the horse, but this approach often requires more available resources and, therefore, more work.

Stamina Is Key

As is the case with all horses in Breath of The Wild, it must be soothed once Link mounts it, which can be done by repeatedly pressing the L button. It should be noted that this horse requires more stamina to tame than most others than can be found in the wild, requiring two entire stamina wheels.

This means that the Giant Horse can only be obtained if a player has increased their maximum stamina to the point of having two entire wheels available, or they must utilize food that replenishes or provides additional stamina.

Watch Out For Lynels!

Once a player has successfully soothed the horse, the next step is to cement your progress by bringing it to any of the stables in Hyrule in order to name and register it. Unfortunately, none of the stables are the most conveniently placed when compared to the location of the Taobab Grassland. One of the most consistent means of bringing the Giant Horse out of these grasslands is to bring it down south, toward the southern edge of the area, then heading east towards the road that is situated right next to the mounted archery camp. This road leads directly to the Highland Stable where a player can then register the horse.

It should be noted that two Lynels can be found within the trek south from where the horse is found. However, as long as a player keeps their distance, the Lynels shouldn't cause any trouble.
