Welcome to another Nintendo Weekly Update, brought to you by the letter G.

This week Nintendo brings us 11 downloadable goodies along with 2 Wii games on the retail side of things. Overall, many of the things released this week can be passed over... all but the exception of one... EARTHWORM JIM 2! Without further ado, let's take a look at this weeks releases for the Nintendo systems.

Retail

Garfield Get Real

System: Wii, DS

Price: $39.99, $29.99

Release: Dec. 16, 2009

Time to get real with Garfield! Garfield has left the pages of his comic book in order to find a real life, but when he learns that his comic will be canceled if he does not return by the time the paper goes to press! Thus begins a race against time for the chubby orange house cat! (Bill Murray not included)

Marines-Modern-Urban-Combat-wii

Marines: Modern Urban Combat

System: Wii

Price: $29.99

Release: Dec. 16, 2009

For those of you whom are too cheap to purchase Call of Duty 4: Reflex Edition can go with this game! It boasts intuitive Wii controls, deadly AI, and amazing squad dynamics... but I'm a little skeptical of that.

Virtual Console

blaster master wii

Blaster Master

System: NES

Price: 500 WiiPoints ($5)

Blaster Master takes place in New York City... or under it I should say. You play a character who has fallen down a manhole and to his surprise has found giant monsters living underneath the city. You have to blast you way through the monsters and back to the surface!

earthworm jim 2 wii

Earthworm Jim 2

System: Sega Genesis

Price: 800 WiiPoints ($8)

Earthworm Jim returns, along with his brand new sidekick, Snott. The sequel to the original hit, Earthworm Jim 2 features new and exciting levels and some sick gameplay features such as mazes, battles of wit, and arcade levels! Sounds like a great game to me!

WiiWare

Diatomic

Price: 800 WiiPoints ($8)

This game takes place in a petri dish. You are an inhabitant of the dish, but you are not alone. 9 other creatures are all trying to destroy you! Can you fend them off and claim the petri dish for your own?

Moki Moki

Price: 800 WiiPoints ($8)

So there are these things called Moki and they are being consumed by creatures called Gromblins, your job is to guide the Moki past all the hazards that lay in front of them. Basically, Lemmings on the Wii, not that that is a bad thing.

Rubik's Puzzle Galaxy: RUSH

Price: 600 WiiPoints ($6)

This isn't like the Rubik's Cube your Grandma played with. Players have to put colored cubes into their designated holes in order gain points in this game. As an added bonus, it also includes the original Rubik's Cube game! (yay?)

Stunt Cars

Price: 800 WiiPoints ($8)

Racing your car on elevated race tracks with no guard rails doesn't sound like a smart thing to do, but apparently someone thought it would make a good game. The one major feature with this game are the "driver achievement awards" that a player can unlock by completing certain tasks. Unfortunately it doesn't add to your Wii's non-existent gamerscore.

DSi Ware

bewjeweled twist wii

Bejeweled Twist

Price: 500 DSi Points ($5)

The classic computer game has made it's way to the DSi. It has locks and bombs for the player to craft his strategy around and lightning and flame gems for players to create... if they are skilled enough.

Littlest Pet Shop

Price: 800 DSi Points ($8)

Collect pets and play with them! Give them toys to play with, play fetch with them, feed them, and clean them to keep them happy. This is a game for any of the people who bought a pink DSi that is for certain.

Master of Illusion Express: Matchmaker

Price: 200 DSi Points

Master of Illusion Express: Matchmaker uses the DSi camera to determine a person's age or even determine what the person's favorite food is. No it probably doesn't work, but it claims to.

Miami Nights: Life in the Spotlight

Price: 800 DSi Points

I know what your thinking and no it is not a prostitution simulator. This game is a life simulator, you design your very own avatar. The decisions you make reflect how people view you in the game... so if you try really hard you might just be a loser in a virtual world... LUCKY.

Yummy Yummy Cooking Jam

Price: 500 DSi Points ($5)

This sounds like a Japanese game show. Similar to Cooking Mama you cook things to all your heart's content. Maybe if you buy it you will learn some actual culinary skills... God only knows I need them.

So what do you think of this week's releases? Are you pumped we have some Earthworm Jim action this week?
