The subscription service for Nintendo's popular handheld console, Nintendo Switch Online, features many useful elements for players such as online multiplayer and access to cloud saves, but its occasional offers and promotions are really the icing on the cake. Some gamers with a Nintendo Switch may choose not to subscribe, but they might be missing out on some pretty interesting content. The recent announcement that vouchers would be back for NSO members is good news for many players, and could actually benefit new subscribers in a big way.

There is always a healthy amount of competition between the various subscription services, with consoles eager to provide the best deals possible to entice gamers. Some players may not own more than one platform, so this might seem less relevant, but companies like Nintendo are still trying to make sure as many gamers engage with subscription services like NSO as possible. The recently added vouchers are a great way to convince players that have previously been unsure about jumping on board to sign up and this could mean building a substantive library of games just became that bit easier.

Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers Explained

This isn't the first time Nintendo has made use of vouchers for NSO. Just as before, vouchers are only available for those that have an NSO membership, so this might be the time to sign up if gamers were previously on the fence. Players can now purchase a pair of Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers and use them to redeem them for a digital game in the extensive catalog of eligible titles. Vouchers can be purchased now and saved for up to twelve months from the date of purchase, and players can have eight vouchers on their account at once.

NSO vouchers are now available on the North American Nintendo eShop at the price of $99.98. Like before, the vouchers can be used on eligible digital titles priced between $49.99 and $59.99, with a possible saving of up to $20. If gamers are new to NSO, have only recently acquired a Switch, or still have a pretty meager library of games, the vouchers are a perfect way to build up their available titles in a cost-effective way.

Switch Games Available In The Deal

Although it may be a good deal for late adopters of either a Switch or the NSO subscription, sadly not all games are available to purchase with the vouchers. However, the list of eligible games is extensive and includes both first and third-party titles, from recent releases and pre-orders like Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon to older games like 2017's ARMS. There's also a wide range of genres that will hopefully meet a variety of tastes, like the Nintendo racing game Mario Kart 8 Deluxe which works well as both a solo experience or with local and online multiplayer.

Other stellar titles that stick out from the list include the award-winning The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which is a perfect game to experience ahead of the release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom later this year if it's one that players might have missed. Another eligible game with an upcoming sequel is Octopath Traveler – a narrative-focused RPG with a branching storyline that was met with good reviews upon release. With both popular classics and lesser-known titles available, the vouchers are the perfect excuse to grow a gaming library.
