Nintendo Switch Online vouchers were removed from the US eShop a while ago, and, at last, it seems that they're finally back. Players that have a Nintendo Switch Online subscription get access to exclusive perks on their Nintendo Switch; it's not only meant for players to get permission to use the internet on their consoles. Members of the service get access to customizable user avatars, free DLC for certain games, and dozens of classic games; for example, NSO subscribers can play GoldenEye 007 as part of the Nintendo 64 app on Switch.

A while back, Nintendo announced that they would be releasing Nintendo Switch vouchers for members of their Online service, but they would be temporarily available. In many countries, this was never true, and the coupons remained available until this very day, but this wasn't the case in North America. Sometime after their release, the vouchers were removed.

A few days ago, a rumor regarding the vouchers started spreading around the gaming community. It was believed that the Nintendo Switch Online vouchers would return to the US eShop very soon. Either it was a coincidence, or it simply turned out to be true; the Nintendo Switch Online vouchers are now available on the North American eShop and can be purchased for $99.98. They work just like they did before, meaning that they can be used on selected digital Nintendo Switch titles priced between $49.99 and 59.99$. Players can save up to $20 with these coupons.

Many players believe that the timing for these vouchers isn't random, and a Nintendo Direct might be on the horizon. There hasn't been a Direct since September, and since there were no new announcements from Nintendo's part at The Game Awards, fans have been craving some news. On top of that, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is only a couple of months away from finally being released, so a gameplay trailer could be shown soon.

The Nintendo Switch Online vouchers can be used on pre-orders, and after they've been purchased, gamers have one year to use them before they expire. This means that Zelda fans that are going to buy Tears of the Kingdom should consider getting these vouchers to save themselves some money. At the moment, it can't be used on the game since pre-orders aren't up yet, but once they become available, the vouchers will be eligible for the game.
