An innovative JRPG released for the Nintendo DS that has witnessed an enhanced release on the Nintendo Switch, The World Ends With You is easily one of the most unique and enjoyable titles one can play on their Switch... provided that they play the game in handheld mode.
With a sequel on the horizon, fans can rest easy knowing the fact that this excellent game will finally get the continuation — and, as a result, the recognition — that it rightfully deserves.
9 Hollow Knight
A Metroidvania Soulslike that is easily one of the best and most successful amalgamations of both these genres — the innate charm and brilliance present in every part of Hollow Knight makes it a game worthy of having a sequel.
The worldbuilding and gameplay present in this title are excellent, and a continuation of the same that manages to build upon the excellent mechanics of Hollow Knight would definitely be appreciated.
8 Octopath Traveler
A JRPG with a rather disjointed design in terms of storytelling that manages to hold itself together through its brilliant turn-based gameplay, Octopath Traveler is a beautiful JRPG that showed a ton of potential through its combat system and boss designs... although its story could certainly use some work.
Given the massive popularity of this game and the problems that have been pointed out time and time again, one can only hope that the sequel to this title ends up working upon the problems of its predecessor's narrative to develop a near-perfect JRPG experience that would be an absolute joy to play through.
7 Arms
Arms is a rarity, in the sense that it's a rare attempt by Nintendo to create a new IP using unique mechanics that could only be replicated on the Switch.
The gameplay of Arms is quite a blast, and playing with friends can prove to be an active and competitive affair as players try to get as many hits in as possible. Given that this was Nintendo's first attempt at an Arms game, the future is certainly quite bright for the series... provided that Nintendo announces and develops a sequel for the same.
6 Yoshi's Crafted World
While Yoshi's Crafted World might be one of the simpler platformers on the Nintendo Switch, there's no denying the fact that fans of this genre will find themselves right at home with this charming title in a beloved series.
Yoshi's Crafted World might not be the biggest or the most notable exclusive on the Switch, but a sequel would still be welcome regardless... although there are various other games in this genre that are worthy of this moniker.
5 Ring Fit Adventure
Easily one of the most unique games on this list, the arrival of Ring Fit Adventure couldn't have been more perfect. The worldwide lockdown resulted in a lack of physical activity for many people all over the world, and Ring Fit Adventure managed to disguise a workout routine as an enthralling action RPG that is certainly quite innovative.

At a glance, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker might seem like nothing more than an uninteresting spinoff title that doesn't really feature an engaging gameplay loop... but that's far from true.
The bonus levels featured in Super Mario 3D World feel like a technical demo featuring what this particular gameplay mechanic would be able to accomplish, and Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker manages to build upon this foundation by showcasing extremely creative levels that can be deceptively fun to tackle and complete.
3 Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury
Speaking of Super Mario 3D World, one can't help but mention the re-release of this title on the Switch — a re-release that also had a brilliant platforming sandbox in the form of Bowser's Fury attached to it as well.
Everyone who picked up this game on the Wii U knows what to expect from this title, and Bowser's Fury ends up combining all the facets of 3D World's gameplay into an excellent package that is quite a blast to play through.
2 Super Mario Odyssey
But of course, it would be impossible to talk about the Super Mario series on the Nintendo Switch without mentioning a brilliant and groundbreaking entry into the franchise that has redefined the platforming genre for a new generation.
Super Mario Odyssey is easily one of the greatest Mario titles of all time, with the platforming and level design present in this title being absolutely sublime in every way. A sequel to this title is something that fans would celebrate in grand fashion.
