Kemono Heroes, a Nintendo Switch exclusive game released in 2020, is being removed from the Nintendo eShop. This delisting will take place on March 30, giving Nintendo Switch gamers a little over two weeks to purchase the game before it is delisted from Nintendo's platform. Gamers interested in Kemono Heroes shouldn't be distressed over this delisting, as this will only be a temporary and the game will likely come back to the Switch platform in the near future.
Kemono Heroes was first released on February 27, 2020, and is a side-scrolling action platformer developed by Mad Gear Games. It is similar to other classic run and gun games like Gunstar Heroes and Metal Slug, complete with a four-player co-operative mode. In this charming Japanese-inspired 16-bit adventure, players can choose between four different furry ninja heroes, who each have their own unique weapons and skills. While Kemono Heroes was originally released as a Nintendo Switch exclusive, it was announced the game would be going multi-platform.
21 Games Could Be Delisted Soon
Around twenty-one games are at risk of being delisted as titles belonging to Adult Swim Games receive notices from its parent company.
NIS America was originally responsible for publishing Kemono Heroes on Nintendo Switch, before Mad Gear Games and JanduSoft partnered up for future games. JanduSoft announced earlier in January that Kemono Heroes would be released in Q3 2024 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, along with Nintendo Switch. This change in publishers is the reason why Kemono Heroes is being delisted from the Nintendo eShop on March 30, giving enough time for publishing rights to be transferred from NIS America to JanduSoft before the latter can republish the game on the Switch.

There's no word on whether Kemono Heroes' return to Nintendo's digital storefront will be quick or not, or if it will launch at roughly the same period as the other versions of this co-op indie game. For the time being, if fans want to try the game ahead of its delisting, it is available on the Nintendo eShop until March 30 for $14.99 USD.
Publisher changes have affected other games on the Nintedo eShop, such as when Octopath Traveler became temporarily unavailable on the Switch earlier this month. The critically acclaimed RPG was made unavailable due to it switching publishers on the storefront. Nintendo, who was responsible for publishing Octopath Traveler in regions outside of Japan, transferred the game's publishing rights back to its parent company, Square Enix. This delisting didn't affect the versions on Xbox One and PC, as Square Enix had self-published the game on those platforms. The same case is happening with Kemono Heroes, and gamers interested in the game hopefully won't need to wait too long for JanduSoft to republish the Switch version.
