Nintendo now offers digital bundles for two of its most popular games, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Both of these games received post-launch support, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is still due to get additional content in the near future.Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was released less than two months after the Switch launched and went on to become the best-selling racing game of all time, continuing to pull in new players to this day. Animal Crossing: New Horizons would reach similar success after releasing in March 2020 and going on to sell roughly 40 million units. These figures put Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Animal Crossing: New Horizons as the two best-selling games on the Switch with the former being the higher selling of the two.RELATED:Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Hits New Sales MilestoneBoth of these games would go on to receive paid DLC in the form of Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Happy Home Paradise and the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass, the latter of which will continue to add new tracks for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for the remainder of 2023. There is now a new option for players who want to experience these games' DLC. When buying either of these games through the Nintendo Switch eShop, players now have the option of buying a digital bundle that includes the game plus its respective DLC.

Players were previously able to access this DLC by buying them individually or from being subscribed to the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack which also includes the Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion. With this new bundle, players not interested in upgrading their Nintendo Switch Online membership to the Expansion Pack can more easily get access to each game's DLC. However, it is worth noting that these bundles offer no significant discount compared to buying the games and their DLC separately though future sales could change this.

DLC for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and Splatoon 2 have helped increase the longevity and sales strength of these games, especially for those that emphasize multiplayer. While many of these DLCs are available through the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack, Nintendo seems to be aware that not everyone is interested in making that upgrade and would rather buy them individually. Through offering these bundles, there are more options for players to access this DLC digitally, potentially opening it up to new players and Switch owners.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe are available now on the Nintendo Switch.
