Amiibo have been a consistently popular product offering from Nintendo. As fast as Nintendo produces the toys, they often quickly sell out. As such, not only are Nintendo's new Amiibo releases highly anticipated but so are re-releases of older Amiibo that are coming back into production. Those looking forward to new Amiibo in 2022 will be happy to hear that a notable Nintendo news leaker has shared a list of upcoming figures for 2022. The list also hints at release windows for two notable Nintendo Switch exclusives.

To start, a wave of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Amiibo are coming down the pipeline. Seven Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Amiibo in total are teased as part of the leak. The first three are planned for release toward the end of March or April. They include Minecraft's Steve and Alex, as well as Ramen Girl Min Min from ARMS. The remaining four are being targeted for September and include Final Fantasy 7's Sephiroth, Tekken's Kazuya, and Pyra and Mythra from Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

As for Amiibo that hint at upcoming 2022 game releases, there are two sets. For May and June, there are two Splatoon kid Amiibo teased. This could imply that Splatoon 3 is targeting a mid-2022 release window. Then in the fall, Amiibo for The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Link and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Zelda are hinted at. This could also be a tease for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2's launch later this year.

The last round of Amiibo that the leaker shares focuses on another Nintendo Switch exclusive, but it's been available for some time before its Amiibo arrive. They're three Monster Hunter Rise Amiibo, with a Malzeno, Palamute, and Palico planned. The three are being targeted for July, which is just over a year after Monster Hunter Rise launched on Switch. Perhaps there's an expansion planned to be announced or released around July, however.

While the leaker does provide release windows for each of the above Amiibo, they also warn that distribution problems could cause delays or cancel plans for worldwide launches. Suffice to say, Amiibo hunters will have to keep up to date on Nintendo's announcements to know for sure when each Amiibo will arrive.

It's also worth acknowledging that while the Splatoon and Zelda Amiibo may hint at release windows for their respective games, that's clearly presumptuous. As the other Amiibo releases imply, they come at the oddest of times and rarely tied to any product launches or announcements. Splatoon 3 and Breath of the Wild 2 will arrive when they arrive. Amiibo will have to do in the meantime.
