Fans have been waiting on Hollow Knight: Silksong for a couple of years now, with many hoping to see news delivered through one of Nintendo's announcement streams. Announced back in February 2019, details about Hollow Knight: Silksong have been sparse, with little more than a few teasers being released by developer Team Cherry.

Hollow Knight: Silksong is a sequel to the hit indie metroidvania Hollow Knight that started as a DLC pack adding new playable character Hornet, but eventually grew into a standalone sequel. What is known is that Hornet will face over 165 different enemy types and will feature a unique healing mechanic and needle weapon that will set Hollow Knight: Silksong apart from what players are used to from the original Hollow Knight.

With the announcement of Nintendo's Indie World showcase tomorrow, many fans waiting for Hollow Knight: Silksong are hopeful the stream will have news on the sequel. The new stream is reportedly around 20 minutes long, so there will not be time for a very large number of games to be shown, and games that are shown likely won't have too many details. However, any news on the game would be better than no news for fans and there is still a lot that even a short look at the game could reveal.

Opinions on whether or not the game will appear in the showcase are mixed among the community. Some fans have shared beliefs that Hollow Knight: Silksong is too big of a title for an Indie World stream and is more likely to be shown in a full Nintendo Direct, while others are teasing fans expecting news on the games. However, a large portion of the community is simply hoping that there will be some new information about the highly anticipated sequel in the stream, such as what sort of environments or enemies players can expect to run into.

Whether or not Hollow Knight: Silksong news comes as part of the Indie World stream or something else entirely, hopefully Team Cherry has something to release about the game soon. The game would not feel out of place at a full Nintendo Direct, but it also is possible that Nintendo would want a bigger title like Hollow Knight: Silksong to bring more attention to the Indie World stream. If fans do not receive any news on the sequel tomorrow, there is a chance that it could also be part of Nintendo's involvement with E3 2021.

Hollow Knight: Silksong is currently in development for PC and Switch.
