While most gamers seem to be fairly happy with their Nintendo Switch consoles, there's one particular issue that continues to plague many: drifting Joy-Cons. Now it appears that help might be in sight, as Nintendo itself has allegedly decided to fix any Joy-Con with a drifting problem for free.

According to an internal document originally revealed by Vice News, Nintendo will be providing users with free Switch repairs for any Joy-Cons with drifting issues. The document claims that players will not be charged and don't have to prove the authenticity of their purchase, nor does the Switch still need to be under warranty.

Of course, some gamers have already sent their Joy-Cons in for repair and had to spend money to do so. The good news is, those who already had their Joy-Cons repaired won't be left out in the dark. Nintendo's document also notes that repairs performed on drifting Joy-Cons in the past will have their fees reimbursed, so long as the customer contacts customer support and requests it.

Not all Switch users have experienced drifting Joy-Cons, but those that do are outspoken about the problem. Some users have gone so far as to open up their own Joy-Cons in order to remove dust that's affecting the controller's sensors. Others have claimed that faulty parts are to blame for the problems. In any case, the problem has been on-going and even those who have had their Joy-Cons repaired have sometimes had the problem come back.

This news comes hot on the heels of a recent class action lawsuit investigation against Nintendo. After numerous reports of drifting Joy-Con problems from users all over the world, a law firm decided to investigate whether it would be worth filing a class action lawsuit against the gaming giant. That lawsuit has now officially been filed, and Nintendo may be attempting to take action on its own beforehand.

For now, Nintendo itself hasn't officially announced to the public that this free repair program exists. If the document is legitimate, then more information will surely follow.

The Nintendo Switch is available now.
