A Nintendo64 Pikachu console owner has shared a funny warning from the original instruction manual that is a true blast from the past. It has been almost 30 years since the N64, the successor to the popular SNES, made its way into eager gamers' hands in 1996. This specific console was Nintendo's first entry into 3D gaming during a time when its fiercest competitors were also launching their own home consoles, such as Sony's PlayStation and the Sega Saturn. The N64 would go on to sell 32 million units worldwide, with over 20 million of the various designs being sold in America alone.

The popular console was discontinued in 2002, just one year into GameCube's life. During the N64 lifespan, almost 400 various titles were released, but a few iconic Nintendo franchises actually skipped being released on the console. One of those not-so-popular games that did get released along with a special version of the N64 was HeyYou, Pikachu!, which launched in 1998. Despite having multiple color variations ranging from the standard dark grey to purple, this one stands out the most, particularly from what a recent gamer discovered

N64 Gamer and Reddit user RussiaIsTrash shared a rather interesting warning from the instruction manual that accompanied the Pikachu Special N64 edition. Despite the Japanese manual, it warns users not to step on the console. This led to some hilarious responses from other Reddit users sharing stories of how sturdy the N64 consoles are, surviving everything from floods to falls down flights of stairs. One gamer and a user named WesterosIsAGiantEgg also remarked how the warning shared suggests that "it is inconsiderate to step on the N64 because the N64 is a friend. Being considerate is very important in Japanese society." Many of these gamers still own their original Nintendo 64s, and it's clear that this particular console has a lot of fans decades later. With such a vast history, the N64 has its own comprehensive encyclopedia released last year.

The Hey, YouPikachu! game included in a bundle alongside the Pikachu N64 was a unique entry into the Pokemon series of games. It tasked gamers with using the special microphone included with the game to communicate with Pikachu utilizing the console's voice recognition unit hardware accessory. Many players weren't a fan, and years later, some gamers feel this game was better suited for the Nintendo 3DS than a home console. For players looking to re-live their childhood, a Nintendo 64 today will cost collectors significantly more now because of inflation.

Players who prefer to enjoy their favorite N64 title but can't afford to purchase a used Nintendo 64 console can utilize Nintendo Switch Online's Expansion pass, which already includes many popular titles. Fan favorites such as MarioParty2 and TheLegendofZelda: OcarinaofTime are already part of the expansion pack, with the famous James Bond entry Goldeneye007 set to be added sometime this year. Although the Nintendo 64 is now considered a retro console, fans are discovering exciting things about it decades later.
