Limited Run Games is teasing one last physical release for the Nintendo 3DS. As the 3DS eShop has officially shut down, the only option to purchase titles will be via physical releases. With the Nintendo 3DS having been launched in 2011, it had one of the most amazing runs as a portable console and a robust library of games. However, it isn't expected to receive any new games and is no longer in production.

While Nintendo has re-enabled access to download codes until April 3, this will be the only remaining function for the eShop. Fans looking into expanding their Nintendo 3DS game library may have to look to video game stores or second-hand items. Completionists may also be surprised to know that there is at least one more upcoming 3DS title to look forward to should they want to really declare the completeness of their collection.

According to a tweet by Limited Run Games, the company will be releasing at least one more game for the dual-screen portable device. While the photo attached to the tweet had the cover of the title blurred, the comments section was ecstatic to know that the last release will complete their wall collection for the Nintendo 3DS. The picture also showed a copy of Go! Go! Kokopolo Anniversary Collection, which was a dual pack including Go! Go! Kokopolo 3D Space Recipe For Disaster and Go! Go! Kokopolo Harmonious Forest Revenge, so it is possible that the blurred image may be in the same series.

As its name suggests, Limited Run Games is known for releasing a lot of obscure or digital titles in physical format in a limited edition capacity. Games such as To the Moon, No More Heroes 1 and 2, and Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World have had physical releases from Limited Run Games. These releases are mostly for purists who enjoy the value of physical copies amid a gaming scene increasingly populated by digital sales.

The Nintendo Switch has effectively replaced the Nintendo 3DS in terms of portable gaming, but the dual-screen machine will still live forever in the hearts of many Nintendo fans. And understandably, there are a few features that fans of the 3DS eShop will miss. As fans say their goodbyes to the digital store, hardcore collectors may start looking for physical copies of games from the 3DS's console generation.
