The streaming industry is full of high-profile streamers. It seems with each popular new game, a new batch of promising content creators emerge to bring fans fresh and entertaining content. Due to the popularity of streaming platforms like Twitch and YouTube, many streamers have enjoyed a large amount of success. However, one of the first to become a big-name star was Tyler “Ninja” Blevins.

Ninja began his career in gaming as a professional Halo player. While he made a name for himself playing competitively in the arena shooter and in battle royale titles like H1Z1 and PUBG, his career took off with the introduction of Fortnite in 2017. As Fortnite became mainstream, so did Ninja. Recently, the streamer announced that he crossed another incredible achievement off his list.

In a tweet sent by Ninja on November 4, the popular streamer announced that he had managed to cross the 17 million followers threshold on Twitch. To celebrate the momentous occasion, he posted a short video. The clip showed his Fortnite avatar resting on top of the number 17 million as confetti rained down from above.

This makes him the most followed streamer on Twitch by a wide margin. According to TwitchTracker, the next closest streamer on the platform is Tfue, with 10.7 million followers. This massive number of followers is made even more stunning, considering Ninja took a break from streaming on Twitch in 2019 when he moved to Microsoft-owned Mixer. After Mixer announced that it was shutting down, Ninja returned to Twitch in September of 2020, where he managed to accumulate even more followers on the platform.

Many fans of the streamer left comments congratulating him on his accomplishment. Even several other high-profile content creators acknowledged the milestone. Jack “CouRage” Dunlop commented, “Mega W. Unreal. So proud of you, brother.” In addition to CouRage, YouTube streamer Dr. Lupo offered his congrats as well. “That’s absolutely insane,” he said. Both of these streamers frequently played Fortnite with Ninja during his rise to stardom back during the early days of the battle royale. Besides Dr. Lupo and CouRage, other content creators, such as NICKMERCS, sent their congratulations as well.

This is just one of many milestones achieved by the video game icon. Besides this recent Twitch achievement, Ninja has over 6.7 million followers on Twitter and an impressive 24 million subscribers on YouTube. In addition, back during the prime of Fortnite, he averaged over 100,000 viewers on Twitch and at one point had 250,000 subscribers.

While Ninja has fewer viewers these days, he still is a popular name in the industry. Given the huge gap in followers between him and the rest of the streamers on the platform, it looks as though he will remain the king of Twitch for the foreseeable future.
