Legendary streamer Ninja has jumped ship from Twitch and is now streaming on Kick. While many notable streamers have checked out the up-and-coming streaming platform over the past few months, Ninja's interest is definitely worth mentioning due to his popularity.Over the past decade, few streamers have received the same notoriety as Richard Tyler “Ninja” Blevins. Starting out as a professional Esports player, Ninja rose to fame by playing Fortnite, smashing Twitch records in the process. While Ninja might not be as popular as he once was, he still has a large number of followers that enjoy his content. Recently, they received interesting news when Ninja revealed his plans to stream on a new platform.RELATED: Adin Ross Names Two Big Streamers Who Are Not Allowed on KickIn a June 9 tweet, Ninja revealed his move to Kick. “Live on Kick and YouTube today,” he said. Interestingly, this came after the streamer had been livestreaming on Twitch for nearly an hour that day. While Ninja has streamed on various platforms in the past, this was the first time that he had attempted a Kick stream. And despite one seeming interruption, the broadcast appeared to go according to plan as Ninja checked out the new season of Fortnite. Shortly after going live on the platform, the official Twitter account of Kick responded, writing “Big Moves.”

Ninja’s move to Kick might not come as much of a surprise to some of his fans, as he has previously talked about why he thought the platform could succeed. In addition, Twitch's recent attempt to institute new guidelines that would change how ads worked while streaming could have given the popular streamer, already frustrated with the Amazon-owned company, more motive to broadcast somewhere else. It is worth noting that Twitch has since backpedaled on these proposed guideline changes. Nevertheless, it appears that the numerous controversial moves from the platform in recent days were enough for some streamers to find a different place to stream, including Ninja.

After Ninja made the Twitter announcement that he would stream on Kick, many fans quickly commented on the decision. The tweet already has over 6,900 likes, with many expressing their approval of the move to the rival platform. Some welcomed the streamer to Kick, while others pointed out their displeasure with Twitch’s recent policy-making decisions.

It will be interesting to see how this decision to start streaming on Kick pans out for Ninja in the coming weeks. While it is unclear how often he will appear on the platform, his presence could boost the burgeoning rival to Twitch. In fact, Kick has reported a massive increase in viewership for the first part of 2023. Time will tell if Ninja’s decision to stream on the platform spurs even more content creators to check out the streaming platform in the future.
