Survival games are all about item management. Whether that's organizing items, collecting items, or even hoarding items to hopefully prevent future farming of them. Nightingale, despite being a pretty original PvE Survival game in quite a few ways, is still heavily reliant on item management.

Nightingale: How to Move and Destroy Structures

Thankfully moving, copying, and removing built structures in Nightingale is not at all tedious and pretty easy to do all around.

Thankfully, the game does have a small feature that makes farming items out in the open world of the Faewilds a bit less tedious, an input to gather all nearby items at once. Let's go over exactly how you're meant to do this in Nightingale, and why this is such a useful little feature.

Picking Up All Nearby Items In Nightingale

Hold Down The 'Interact' Input

Nightingale - Example Of Loading Screen Tip Pointing Out Mass Pickup Option

Before anything else, let's just say it flat out, to pick up all nearby items in Nightingale, simply hold down the 'Interact' Input ('E' on PC by default). Now, the reason that you might not know this feature exists in Nightingale is because it's not really shown to you in the tutorial of the game. Rather, players can find out about this feature either from getting lucky and seeing it as a loading screen tip or seeing it in the 'How to Play' section of the game's pause menu.

By default, you can pick up items in Nightingale just like you would in most other games, by simply walking up to the item and pressing 'E' to grab it. However, for certain activities in this game such as breaking down ore or cutting down trees, having to individually hit 'E' on every item can quickly become very monotanous. With trees especially, every one you cut down (or your NPC companion cuts down) falls over before automatically breaking down into Wood Bundles in a line following the length of said tree.

Running along picking these Wood Bundles up one by one can quickly get tedious, especially if you're basically cutting down a forest to build your estate. So, having a button to just immediately grab everything nearby immediately makes this game more accessible to those who don't have a lot of free time to game. Though, this is a quick way to become overencumbered without realizing it, but thankfully Nightingale is pretty gracious with the Fast Travel abilities players have, so this usually isn't too big of an issue. Just keep in mind that this range is rather small, so it's usually best to hold down the input a couple of times while moving around an area with a lot of items on the ground, just so there isn't anything that slips through it's deceptively small range.
