Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl has seen several new updates since it’s launch last year. With additional costumes for characters and the addition of characters like Garfield to the cast of playable Nickelodeon icons, the colorful fighting game has seen plenty of fun attributes that makes it stand out amongst others like Super Smash Bros.

There have been multiple ideas for characters who should join All-Star Brawl as DLC, from classic characters such as Rocko and Jimmy Neutron, to fan favorites like Fairly Odd Parents’ Crimson Chin and Jenny from My Life as a Teenage Robot. Developer Ludosity confirmed that two characters would be added to the game post-launch as free updates, the first of which being the aforementioned Garfield, with a second ot be announced at a later date.

Now, it has been confirmed that The Shredder, the infamous villain of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise, is the second free DLC character being added to Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl. The character was revealed alongside the announcement that he is available in game starting today.

Along with Shredder’s inclusion to the roster, Ludosity also confirmed that a new stage based on the Nick game show Double Dare is also being added to the game. This addition creates a total of 21 stages in the game, all ranging from familiar locales from franchises like Avatar: The Last Airbender to Invader Zim. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise is represented by three particular stages, ranging from the rooftops to the sewers, and one particular stage which is based on The Technodrome, the Shredder's lair from the original 1980s cartoon.

The Shredder, real name Oroku Saki, is the leader of villainous Foot Clan, and the longest-running arch-enemy of Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael, thus making his inclusion in the All-Star Brawl very expected, but welcome nonetheless. Curiously, the latter two Turtles, Donnie and Raph, are not part of the initial lineup of characters in All-Star Brawl, though Leo, Mikey, and even April O’Neil are front and center across all the game’s marketing. Perhaps they will be added to the game as paid DLC as part of Ludosity's plan to support the game post-launch.

While it may be a while until more substantial additions to the game are included, such as long-desired voice acting for characters, this is an exciting update for fans of both All-Star Brawl, and the series the character represents.

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S
