Nickelodeon made waves earlier this year when it announced Ludosity would be developing Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, a Super Smash Bros-like fighter starring Nickelodeon characters. The game's early trailers have shown off several fan-favorite characters who would be appearing within the game, from Spongebob Squarepants to Danny Phantom and more. Now, Ludosity has unveiled the character (or characters) coming to the crossover fighter.

Ludosity and Fair Play Games have been slowly unveiling the roster of characters coming to Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl since the game's announcement in July of this year. During Gamescom 2021 in August, the cartoon crossover revealed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' April O'Neil and CatDog would be joining the fight. Today, Ludosity revealed the newest fighter to enter the expanding roster of iconic characters, with the newest members working as a team.

Ludosity announced earlier today that the iconic duo of Ren and Stimpy, two of Nickelodeon's original "Nicktoons," would be bringing their raunchy ruckus to the highly-anticipated fighting game. Ren and Stimpy will act as a duo in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, allowing the characters to attack in multiple directions, often using each other as weapons. Ludosity Project Manager Joel Nystrom and Fair Play Games Game Designer Matias Singer joined together to give a sneak peek into the characters' mechanics in a post on the PlayStation blog.

Ren and Stimpy feature several references to their show through many of their unique attacks. Their neutral special, aptly titled "Log From Blammo!", features the bouncing log featured in a commercial within the show. The game also makes reference to the iconic "Happy Happy Joy Joy" song through Ren and Stimpy's Up Air attack. The post also details how the duo aspect of the characters will work in many of their attacks, with Ren dealing low damage initially and Stimpy dealing strong damage at a slight delay. Nystrom and Singer also show off several pieces of concept art for how the attacks were designed.

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl has been a popular topic among fans of both Nickelodeon and Super Smash Bros. and, as such, has led to many different fan requests for characters to be included. Classic characters like My Life as a Teenage Robot's Jenny Wakeman, or XJ9, and The Fairly OddParents' Timmy Turner have been among the most requested from passionate fans. The excitement hasn't missed many of Nickelodeon's most famous voice actors as well with voice actor Mark DeCarlo wanting to join the game in his fan-favorite role as Hugh Neutron. Excitement among fans for the upcoming Nickelodeon crossover is palpable and will only grow as the game approaches its release later this year .

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is slated for a Fall 2021 release for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
