According to a new rumor, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl could be getting a sequel. Developed by lesser-known studios Ludosity and Fair Play Labs, 2021’s Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl looked to replicate the successful 2D platform-brawler formula of Super Smash Bros. using characters from classic Nickelodeon franchises like SpongeBob SquarePants, Invader Zim, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and countless others. Reviewers praised All-Star Brawl’s gameplay mechanics but noted the lack of variety and voice acting from the original Nickelodeon shows at launch.

Regardless, many felt that Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl had potential that could be better realized in a sequel, and there have been rumors of a Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 over the past few months. Back in January, images of SpongeBob SquarePants’s Squidward and the titular Danny Phantom as playable characters in a new All-Star Brawl game started circulating on the internet, along with theories that developer GameMill could formally announce this sequel as early as this July. Additionally, a possible logo for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 was leaked a brief while later.

More evidence of a Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 has just been leaked online, courtesy of YouTuber and video game rumor hunter PapaGenos. In their latest video, PapaGenos claims that the same unnamed source that informed them about Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl’s Rocko DLC told them that a sequel is indeed in the works. Furthermore, a pair of images depicting the potential box art for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 was shown, and PapaGenos has received word of two new playable characters for the game: Jimmy Neutron from Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius and Vlad Plasmius from Danny Phantom.

Both characters can be seen in the leaked Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 box art, along with characters from the last All-Star Brawl like SpongeBob, Patrick, Korra from The Legend of Korra, Jenny from My Life as a Teenage Robot, and Garfield. PapaGenos notes that at the very bottom of the leaked box art, Squidward’s head can be seen, adding credence to January’s All-Star Brawl 2 leak. Raphael from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles can also be seen on the box art, suggesting that he will be the third Turtle brother to be included in an All-Star Brawl title - and PapaGenos suspects that Donatello won’t be too far behind.

PapaGenos also points to an old piece of concept art from the beginning of Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl’s development that featured plenty of characters that didn’t make the final game - including the ones featured in the leaked All-Star Brawl 2 box art. The Nickelodeon universe is filled with memorable characters that could make great additions to the All-Star Brawl roster, and if this leaked box art is legitimate, then they could very well appear in the rumored sequel if and when it launches.

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
