Yet another classic cartoon character has been confirmed for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2: the masked hero El Tigre. The first Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl aimed to replicate the colorful fighting action of games like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate with characters and locations from the beloved cable channel’s slate of iconic animated properties. While it didn’t quite reach the acclaim of Super Smash Bros., it sold well enough for publisher GameMill Entertainment to officially announce a sequel in July - just two years after the original.

Most of the first game’s zany cast of playable fighters will be returning in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, along with a handful of cartoon favorites that fans have been requesting since its predecessor was announced. Jimmy Neutron will finally enter the fray after his father Hugh was added as a DLC character in the first All-Star Brawl, Plankton and Squidward will join SpongeBob SquarePants, and Raphel and Donatello of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will finally leap into action after missing out in the original game.

Now another character has been added to Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2’s lineup of famous cartoon heroes and villains. Earlier today, GameMill, Ludosity, and Fair Play Labs revealed that El Tigre from El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera will be coming to the game as a rushdown character with some of the fastest attacks in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2. El Tigre is also described as a glass cannon with a mix of ranged and close-up combos, using his razor-sharp claws to inflict rapid damage on his opponents and his extendable arms to close the distance from afar. A trailer of El Tigre in action was posted on GameMill’s official YouTube channel.

El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera is one of Nickelodeon’s lesser-known original shows, having only run for one 26-episode season from 2007 to 2008. The morally conflicted young hero was teased as a playable character in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 even before its official announcement, with the show’s creator Jorge R. Gutierrez hinting at his inclusion. A leaked screenshot would later show El Tigre battling his fellow feline combatant Garfield.

Now El Tigre is officially part of Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2’s eclectic roster of cable cartoon mainstays. While he isn’t the most mainstream character in the Nickelodeon library, the fact that he’s included is a treat for fans who grew up watching The Adventures of Manny Rivera - and his fighting style will likely make him an ideal choice for players who prefer speedy strikes to brute strength. Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 isn’t set to launch until sometime next year, so even more characters from Nick cartoons past and present could be added to the game’s roster in time.

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 is currently in development for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
