Each of the 25 characters in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 can be customized with additional costumes. Many of these costumes call back to specific episodes in the characters' respective series, but there are also plenty of original outfits. However, the alternate options differ quite drastically in quality. Some are nothing more than basic color palette swaps.

However, other outfits stand out for their style and creativity, to the point where some outshine their regular counterparts. While it's always fun scrolling through each costume, these are particularly eye-catching. There are also a handful of extra outfits that Free Play Labs have released as day one DLC which will also be included in this list.

8 Pirate Garfield

A Fancy Pirate Hat and Shorts

Considering Garfield has no clothes to begin with, putting anything on him would help his design stand out more. An entire pirate costume with a giant hat and small shorts is the perfect way to add even more charm to this curious cat. The nonchalant look on Garfield's smug face adds to the humor of the outfit. It's the best use of the pirate get-up in the game.

As far as Nickelodeon designs go, the Angry Beavers are pretty out there. But when customizing them with their casual outfits, they start looking more like regular people as opposed to rodents. The floral-patterned shirts strike the perfect balance between ridiculous and forma. The only addition that could make it any better is a pair of suede shoes for each of them.

5 Air Nomad Robe Aang

Menacing and Intimidating

Later in the story of Avatar the Last Airbender, when Aang arrives in the Fire Nation, his appearance changes quite a bit, representing how much time has passed since he was unconscious. One of the major changes to Aang's appearance was when he began sporting an Air Nomad Robe with one shoulder exposed.

This was paired with Fire Nation shoes and pants, which are a lot darker than the more colorful ones that Aang wore for the first few seasons. This outfit gives Aang a drastically different aura, striking fear into any combatants who dare to face him.

4 Smiling Mecha Plankton

Great Big Smile Looks More Like a Hero Than a Villain

Because Plankton uses a mech as his stand-in for fights, there are plenty of creative options that can be applied to the character. It's clear that the developers had a lot of fun finding unique ways to decorate him. Each alternate costume changes the mech's mouthpiece in some way, but it always has a mean grin, except for this one. Instead, this outfit has a gentle and innocent smile.

This simple touch makes Plankton look more like a hero than a villain. Though looks can always be deceiving, no one would ever put Plankton above using a manipulative robot to get what he wants, as he's proven with Imitation Krabs. The steel gray color change is also unique, providing a more industrial design to the whole machine. While it might be made for destruction, it's hard to use a hard-hitting Super Move on something with such a heartwarming smile.

3 Azula Beach Day Outfit

Callback to an Iconic Episode

Azula gets a lot of love when it comes to her costume options in this game. While her Earth Kingdom outfit looks amazing, the Beach Day outfit is the most impressive because of how much it changes her appearance. Here, Azula swaps her giant Fire Nation armor for a much more laid-back and relaxed set of clothes which she wears to the beach during her day away with her friends. She also lets her hair down, which does a lot to change her overall appearance.

2 Rocker Raphael

Fits the Character's Extroverted Nature

Considering how long the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have been around, there's a plethora of fun and wacky outfits to choose from. But since they can't all be included, the developers needed to pick ones that represented the characters' different personalities. For Raphael, they decided to go with a wild rock star style. This outfit completely changes how he looks, and adds a ton of tiny details that feed into his brash and outgoing persona.

In Raphael's regular outfit, he only has a small belt and his signature red bandanna. When switching to his rock star costume, he's equipped with a leather jacket, red undershirt, groovy 80s-style pants, and a pair of gigantic white boots. The glossy star around his eye is the icing on the cake, and an homage to classic glam rock bands like KISS.

1 Dark Danny Phantom

Creative, Eye-Catching Color Swap

Usually, when a dark or evil version of a character is available as a costume, it's nothing more than a quick color palette swap. But in this game, Fair Play Labs went above and beyond to make Dark Danny Phantom as different from the original as possible. The most striking part of the look is the flowing white hair, which leans into the more ghostly aspects of Danny's character. Meanwhile, the black and white jumpsuit gives him a lot more edge that really suits his style.

This is by far the most experimental alternate costume in the game, and there's no doubt that a lot of Dark Danny Phantoms will be showing up online due to how eye-catching the design is. It's a true love letter to longtime Danny Phantom fans. While it might be a little slimmed down for the game, it still looks absolutely stunning.
